Very catching! Many thanks. In the 1990s I travelled a lot to Madagascar, where I found similar music - deliriously foot-tapping, impossible to listen to sitting down. You had to move with it! It was played with that characteristic high register on the guitar and is instantly recognisable. I asked (like many others) what the type of music was called and was told "Kwasa". Apparently a Frenchman had made the same enquiry way back, asking "C'est quoi, ca?" or "What's that?". They couldn't put a name to their music, so they shortened 'quoi, ca' into Kwasa... It's characteristically East African music and I don't know why we can't hear more of it in western countries. Best wishes from London UK.
