I live in the Phoenix area and I’m soooo scared that even though I’m going into a career I want to go into, that I’m not going to make enough to even airs a home in the area I want to live in. All of the houses here are well over $250,000. Feeling nervous. I also had to take out a small loan to start.

Devanie Calhoun I hear you. I really think the beauty of this industry is you can excel and make more money if you want to! Whereas many jobs you are pinned to a certain salary. There are so many avenues you can take esthetics if your goal is to make more money! Maybe you’ll own your own business! So many opportunities. I would just say follow your heart- when you love what you do you naturally excel. When you choose a job for money, often it’s not lucrative long term when you burn out and don’t have the fire to sustain you. That said you have to do what works for you. I know whatever choices you make will be the right ones! I wish you happiness 💕🙏

I love your videos!!! They are so helpful in learning about an esthetics career ❣ I was wondering if I get an AA in nursing and my esthetician license, would I be able to do microneedling? Anything you know would help so much 😆

hi! Thank you so much :) nurses and above can do lasers, microneedling and injectables. Microneedling courses would be available to you as a nurse. My daughter is getting ready to start school in Florida where they only require 260 hours. This is for the ‘facials program” then there is the Advanced Esthetics course that is offered after you obtain your license. Wonder why so little in comparison to the 600 hours you mentioned in California. Thank you for these videos, they’ve been very helpful.

Omg thank you so much for this video! You were so reassuring and calming that I felt like a friend was talking to me! I'm considering starting esthie school. After finishing college and getting my bachelors 2 years ago, I still haven't been able to get a job in my field. It's been difficult, so I started thinking about what else I'm passionate about and skin care is definitely it. I'm so thorough with my own skin and products for myself, and people always ask my techniques, so I started thinking that I would love to get into that field to learn all there is to know about it and to help others achieve their skin care goals! +Tess Zolly Ok, thank you Tess! One last question, do you think having a bachelors degree on top of your certification is necessary or more helpful in landing a great esthetician position? I really just want to focus on esthetics and not pursue a degree as well, but don’t want to waste my time if it’s difficult to land a position without one. TIA! Love your videos btw, I had a very similar experience as you with career burn out. I as well was overly intrigued during my facial and have been researching/testing clean beauty for years, so your channel resonates with me. Keep up the awesome videos please. :)

How long did it take you to take those other courses that you mentioned? I start school in November and my school doesn't teach some things like dermaplaning and I want to take an outside course for that!

I am interested in estie school, but i am concerned about some health problems. I do have hand eczema. Is this will limit my potential do be an esthetician (aggravated eczema due to working with various products....)??? Is this a huge big cons to be a candidate to apply for school? Are admins of school eliminate those people at the beginning of school?

Maria Assimakopoulos hi Maria! Yes you do, it’s a big part of the program actually or at least was for me. You don’t need a license to do makeup, but you do learn the basics in school.
