my calculator is reacting differently, When I put 75 for the y01 and check the stat sheet, the N is 75 instead of 1. it seems like the calculator is treating y01 as frequency not a pair number with x01. edited: nvm i fixed it I have to set it to LIN mode

Hi, there are no specific videos as such to cover these topics. My point is, that if you watch the Fixed Income plalist which includes bond valuation concepts or the Equity videos on the Gordon growth model, like this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d16mfouQqtyMd8U, you will understand these concepts.

ok, when you press 2nd followed by 8 and see 1-V, please press 2nd followed by ENTER (which has SET as its secondary function). Your display should change from 1-V to LIN. Now you should see the same figures as me :) Let me know if you were successful.

Hi, for the slope calculation whereby you have cov(y,x)/var(X), can we not cancel out the (x_i - x_mean) from both the numerator and denominator leaving slope = sum( (y_i - y_mean) / (x_i - x_mean))?

I see what you mean :) but no, you can't simplify like that because thge numerator involves multiplying each x deviation from the mean by the respective term for y. In any case, the result which you propose: slope = sum( (y_i - y_mean) / (x_i - x_mean) would produce 0 / 0. The sum of all the deviations from the mean (without squaring) gives zero. That's a basic property of the mean :) try it with the numbers and see.
