Confidence Interval about Mean
Part 1 The Quality control manager of a light bulbs factory needs to
estimate the mean life of a large shipment of light bulbs.
The process standard deviation is known to be 100 hours.
A random sample of 64 light bulbs indicated as sample mean
life of 350 hours.
a. obtained the standard error of mean.
b. set up 95% confidence interval estimate of the true
population mean of light bulbs in shipment.

Estimation is any of process used to calculate the value of some property of a unknown population from observations of a sample drawn from the population.
Types of Estimation
A point estimate: It is the single number most likely to express the value of the property.
An interval estimate defines a range within which the value of the property can be expected (with a specified degree of confidence) to fall.
