So nice to be back to Paide. We visited there on a recent trip home to Estonia. Our family was visiting the castle tower first. The rest of my family was ahead of me coming from where we parked the auto, I followed behind. As I approached the tower where my family was, an Estonian couple walked past me. I thought to be polite and said "Tere." to them as I past them. When we were a bit past each other, the man shouts behind himself towards me, "Hey! Where are you from?" in good English! Turns out, a God appointment to meet. We find quite a lot in common between us. We exchange Facebook accounts, and he sees I am friends with two of his friends. He is connected with the Evangelical Baptist Church in Paide. He asked me some Christian DNA questions, and after perhaps not even a minute of me answering, he told me, "We are compatible." At the conclusion of our encounter, he tells me that I am a good candidate to be "adopted Estonian". 🥰 And Paide is the first, and only place, I have driven an auto on the European continent! When we were done with the castle tower museum, then we walked to a pood. Once we were done there, my wife hands me the auto keys, says, "Pick us up, please." So managed not to get lost finding the parking lot near the castle tower, drove the auto safely to the pood. While driving back, at the last second realized someone standing at a zebra stripe on the road meant I must stop.... and did so! We had a lovely lunch out of doors on the lovely open square you showed at the end of this video. Oh, and while dining then we saw a wedding party pass the square. Perhaps the people had something to do with the fire department as even fire trucks were in the procession, sounding horns and their lights flashing. Such lovely memories this video brings back to mind. 🥳 Suur aitäh!
