Hello, definitely what a good tutorial I just saw. It has served me a lot, fortunately I have almost everything you used (not the background and the diffuser fabric for the umbrella) but with what I have it is already a start. I only have one question, when you sit your model, do you lower the lights to her level or do you detail them as if she was sitting on the bench or standing? and the exposure parameters, which are of both lights if you would like to share them. Greetings from Mexicali, Baja California. México

@itunuakande60144 жыл бұрын
Great video. Would have loved to see the process in more details. Which of the flash did you setup first? What was the power setting? At what point was the power setting of the first flash ok for the style you were going for? Same questions for the second light.
@angelamichelleperez4 жыл бұрын
Hello! I don't really look at the actual power settings on my flashes when I am shooting. I rely on my handheld flash meter to give me the correct exposure. Both flashes where setup to give me a flash meter reading of f/2.8 ISO 100 1/125 since both lights I used were different wattage having the flash meter reading is more important. I hope that makes sense.
@jamesgolando88623 жыл бұрын
Angie ,great video, an awesome job in a small space. well done !! What were your light settings ?
@angelamichelleperez3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I use a flash meter to meter my lights and don't really write down the light power settings so I have no idea and this will very much depend on how powerful your flashes are.

Awesome images! I love love this type of fine art lighting. I too have a 7 ft umbrella and when I saw your vid. I tried recreating this light set up but came across an issue. I noticed you had an S bracket to hold your speedlite... how do you secure the umbrella at a certain spot so your speedlite doesn’t end up basically touching the umbrella? I also have an S bracket and a Godox AD200 but as soon as I turned the umbrella to position it vertically it went all the way through the S bracket hole and my AD200 ended up touching the umbrella. Thanks in advance!
@angelamichelleperez3 жыл бұрын
Hello! I’m glad the vid was helpful. My s bracket has a knob to tighten the umbrella pole in place so it does not slide through and stays secure where you want it.

Yeah, I am so stoked to find you today! I've literally searched the terms "what makes hand painted backgrounds so great" and I'm still kinda stumped. Any idea why they cost two adult stimulus checks just for a basic beat-up-backalley texture? What gives? Love your vids tho!
@angelamichelleperez4 жыл бұрын
haha for me what makes them great is their imperfections no two backgrounds will ever be the same and I think that grittiness and imperfection really radiates through the photo. I personally am not in the position to spend thousands of dollars on an oliphant hence why I went on a search for finding a similar product a fraction of the cost. I also suggest for those that want to try the look to DIY their own backdrops. The reason I like canvas is because I do not have to iron it and is always smooth and prefer it over paper because of it's texture and durability. Canvas is kind of expensive a plain roll in a large size can run you about $200 and that is without the paint job on it so that is why they are kind of expensive. So you are paying for having an actual human create something that will be sort of a one of a kind.
