Just saying with the estwing you did 13 chops , I rewound and recounted to be sure ,, but I also give credit you're the first person I've seen to actually to use proper technique while chopping!!

Nice review. I own both axes and like them both. My Hudson Bay axe is a Council Tool which are also made in the USA. Just one minor correction I would offer is that the Hudson Bay pattern is NOT a Swedish or Scandinavian pattern. The Hudson Bay pattern originated in northern Spain and southern France and were made popular by the French fur trappers who operated out of the Hudson Bay, hence the name.

Have you looked at Council Tool to see if they have the proper handle for your Hudson Bay? I say this because they do sell an 18in and a 24 in Hudson Bay style axe.

i bought a easwing hammer as my first real hammer 10years ago. the sound it makes hitting a nail i knew right away it was seriously hard steel and a good quality product. i live in Canada and all the tools sold in store are stainless. from fish knife, hunting knives to axe all garbage. i bought a couple mora carbon knifes online and i just ordered a easwing camper's axe. i know i wont regret it.
