Dear Sir! Why the 50310 CabControl Integrated Control Unit only was specially developed for use in North America and Australia? This CabControl recognizes the European locomotives, with ESU decoder recorded by ESU sound files? Does it also perform the same functions as the ECoS 50210, except for some differences? Thanks in advanced. :o)

Matt, how are the locos that do not have RailCom set up? Manually? How are pictures imported? Can the same throttle used with ECoS and the CabControl on two different layouts? Can locos or layouts already created in the ECoS be imported?

While the Throttles are sold separately and would work with the ECoS (Mobile Control II) the CabControl is an independent system

Hi, after programming non ESU locos, saving them (take me 2 tries to save), I get the programmed loco with functions keys as expected. The problem is that they don't have the little numbers in the lower left side, just the F. It's difficult to count from F1 (after the lights) when you have 18-24 functions. I have gone through all of the settings and there does not seem to be anything that controls this. I can change them to icons representing the function, but in the limited set of icons available (definitely not 150, more like 20), I need to have the functions numbered. Can you please provide some help? I tried going to the forums after registering with ESU with my Cab Control serial number, I get a message that my forum account has not been activated when I click on the forum button. If there is an email as stated I don't see the address anywhere on the website.

I have been searching for this ESU 50310 Cab Control Wifi Set on e-bay or on line store (incld. placing back-order) for the last six months but no luck, it's always out of stock. Any comment or suggestion?. Thanks

Are there plans to allow communication with loconet? I already have a significant investment in Digitrax hardware infrastructure .(due to the fact I use RR&Co software to run trains)

I'm guessing that if the command station has the ECoS link, then you could attach the Lnet adapter for the ECoS 50200. But it would be great if the adapter was built in.

I checked their Facebook page and it says that the L.Net adapter is built-in but not active until they acquire a Digitrax license and then enable it with a software update.

I hope that like the ECoS 50200, you could use you PC browser to display the same screens as the ECoS. Thereby allowing you to use a tablet like a ECoS 50200.

Matt, will ESU be offering an app similar to Engine Driver, where I can access the CabControl WiFi and say control my engines, with all the same features, from my Tablet?

You may need to contact Engine Driver to see if it will as they are always updating... I know the App "ECoS Controller" will work.

G'Day Matt, Looks like ESU has not only raised the bar you guys have sent it through the roof. I have been using Loksound decoders since V3. I have approx 25 V3.5 & 18 V4 decoders in Aussie locos. Will this android based throttle connect to JMRI WiFi. I use a Raspberry Pi SPROG system for exhibition layouts and a large Digitrax installation at home. I would like to use the throttles on both of these systems as they both use JMRI WiFi throttle. I guess you can connect to JMRI on the Raspberry Pi using the ethernet port but that would require buying a full system.

martyn1107 we are working with Engine Driver to incorporate the throttle and side buttons into their application. This will hopefully be ready in very early 2018

Great news Matt, I will be at the NMRA nationals in Kansas in August hopefully doing some clinics on the Raspberry Pi and SPROG system. Would love to have one of these throttles as well. Looking forward to getting my hands on ti when available. :-)

Silly question, (and you may have mentioned it in the video and I missed it but....) how do you change direction of travel of the locomotive? The speed control is pretty self explanatory, but I missed how you changed direction.

The choice is up to you as the user! We have given multiple options for direction change. 1. Turning the throttle past 0 until you feel a "click" 2. The touch Screen shows the direction arrow, pressing the opposite arrow will change the direction, 3. Any of the 4 side buttons can be programmed as a direction change.

Actually, the Mobile Control II that comes with this system and is sold separately will work with any WiFi system already. We are also working with Engine Driver and others to incorporate the throttle knob and side buttons to work with their applications.

Hi Jeff, if you already have an ECoS there is really no need for the CabControl system. The Mobile Control II Throttles are the same and can be bough separately giving the same capability. The CabControl system is an independent system. you can expand both systems other ESU layout control components though. ECoSBoost, and SwitchPilots, Etc....

You can run your existing tracks and trains with it, yes. But no need to keep the NCE system itself, and it won't work with it.

Pretty pathetic that 6 years later and the Loconet port built into the control unit is still not activated and ESU is still selling the Ecoslink to Loconet adapter. I purchased this system to replace a digitrax Zephyr system years ago and I have gone back to the Digitrax system. The battery life on the remote is absolutely garbage and the device itself is incredibly sluggish, slow and unpolished. No one should purchase the cab control system and ESU should be ashamed at the way that they have not offered support updates for the device.
