Great video. I'm on a learning path towards a solo adventure.. sailing the West coast of Britain (and back) is one of my experience milestones towards my ultimate goal (South America). Looking forward to your next video with more tips/insights.

Hi. Yes, you're right, 20m isn't a magical number/depth, and you do see markers in deeper water. Our experience on the east coast was that close in, especially around some headlands, it was like a slalom course - you couldn't hold a steady course for any length of time as there'd always be one in the way.

Apologies if you said it in the video and I just missed it, but how many days in total did your circumnavigation actually take?
@easytigeriisadventures32732 жыл бұрын
Hi Spartan. The whole thing took from the Thursday before Easter through to the last day of August but this was mainly because of Paul needing to go to work and nearly a month waiting for the drive coupling fix - i.e. long periods when we weren't on the boat. We did 38 days 'sailing' and most of the places we visited we stayed just for the night. We did extra days in Grimsby, Hartlepool, Edinburgh, Peterhead, Ballycastle, Bangor, Aberystwyth, Fishguard and Padstow.

@@easytigeriisadventures3273 Got it; thanks for the quick reply! I might try to do it this summer. What pilot publications did you rely upon most - Imray?
@easytigeriisadventures32732 жыл бұрын
@@kbbarton1 I'm going to cover passage planning in a future video but since you ask we had the various Imray pilots on board and of these the Irish Sea Pilot was probably the most useful. The problem is that most of these are out of date - even the Irish Sea one is from 2015 for e.g. - so you can't rely on them 100%. VisitMyHarbour.com is more up to date but many places don't have entries from times more recent than 2018.
