With this new creation we pay homage to the illustrious French choreographer, Pierre Lacotte. Premiered at the Petipa Awards Gala 2023, this special piece stands as an enduring testament to Lacotte's profound influence on the world of ballet.
Renowned choreographer, Vasily Medvedev, drew inspiration from the distinguished legacy of Pierre Lacotte, aiming to capture the essence and style of Lacotte's choreographies. Throughout the creative process, Medvedev felt the guiding spirit of Lacotte, infusing the work with his eternal brilliance.
Collaborating closely with Medvedev was the world-famous costume designer, Elena Zaitseva. With a deep respect for Lacotte and a history of successful collaborations, Zaitseva eagerly embraced the task of creating sketches and costumes for this exceptional performance.
The stage came alive with the talented students of Bayer Ballet Academy.The dedication and artistry breathe life into "Eternal Brilliance," as they honor Lacotte's enduring legacy through skilled execution of this masterpiece choreography.
