TM singing that little bit of "Bad Moon Rising" is epic. He has a great voice (see "Forget me not" for the 'Nun Song') and this role is sooo him. ;)

The show does seem really strange at first but I actually strangely fell in love with it plus it is made by Ashley Pharoh and Matthew Graham my two favourite writers ever.

Really wish Amazon or Netflix would pick this series back up. It had a cliffhhanger that needed resolving. It was REALLY well cast and shot. It was written by the same people as Life on Mars. It was filmed in York. It had every ingredient that makes TV brilliance, but it was dropped.

Thanks for posting. I'm a big fan of Tobias Menzies and have a hard time finding much of his work. Stumbled upon your channel and have subscribed. This potentially cheesy story line is given a subtle treatment with good actors and, I hope, continues to deliver interesting stories. I must check out the 'roguish DI' referred to in the previous post. Again, thank you for uploading.

Too funny. Good angels who come down to earth to become lawyers to protect unjustly accused and a fallen angel who prosecutes. Sometimes their huge wings appear (white for good and black for bad) behind them when they talk to each other. The fallen angel is lots of fun (Tobias Menzies) and the good angels are rather dull in comparison. Law & Order this ain't.

I loved this series, why did it end? Even though I've only ever been able to watch it on KZbin. It was a thing of beauty and charm, something as special as the city of York itself. Very entertaining also and great plots about human beings and I loved all the actors. Samuel West is a favourite of mine, he was also great for example in Inspector Lynley, Chinese Walls (another series I wish had continued, why did it end?)

Anyone who reads the Bible will see the absurdity of this movie. Angels are here all the time, but not visible. So they would never be surprised at anything they see here. Also, they live in a perfect world, and as our earth is so deeply flawed with horrific sins occurring at every moment, heavenly beings would not be enamored of this place. They would more likely feel distaste and be repelled by all the people who want nothing to do with The Living God, Creator of Heaven and Earth, The Commander of Heaven's Armies.

Very smooth transition...and I have ceased weeping,at my perceived loss! if poeple could see the outcome of their descisions they would act differently, ahhhh but that would not be free will woujld it? Great episode but where did that come from, the idea that free will only exists if you have no concept of consequences, Be willing to experience anything and dont do anything that others are not willinug to experience, one has to have rules to live by, and by agreeing to them one is perforce exercising free will.

The fallen angels should respect the ones that kicked their asses out of heaven. The writers poetic licence to create conflict in these stories forgets that fact. Still interesting challenges that people have free will to choose the right or wrong path pleases me in this series and that angels don't interfere. Although God can send them to confort and strengthen faithful earthling mortals. 👽

The word 'corn'' can be used to describe different grain crops - so in the UK it could typically be oats, barley or wheat. The word could also just mean the individual seed itself. So a very old Scots / English song tells the story of 'John Barleycorn' , or the barley seed, from planting to brewing. In the UK maize is usually known as 'sweetcorn', and sometimes 'maize' .

Lawyers as angels -- too unbelievable An engineer died and reported to the pearly gates. An intern angel, filling in for St. Peter, checked his dossier and grimly said, "Ah, you're an engineer; you're in the wrong place." So the engineer was cast down to the gates of hell and was let in. Pretty soon, the engineer became gravely dissatisfied with the level of comfort in hell, and began designing and building improvements. After a while, the underworld had air conditioning, flush toilets, and escalators, and the engineer was becoming a pretty popular guy among the demons. One day, God called Satan up on the telephone and asked with a sneer, "So, how's it going down there in hell?" Satan laughed and replied, "Hey, things are going great. We've got air conditioning and flush toilets and escalators, and there's no telling what this engineer is going to come up with next." God's face clouded over and he exploded, "What? You've got an engineer? That's a mistake; he should never have gotten down there; send him up here." Satan shook his head, "No way. I like having an engineer on the staff, and I'm keeping him." God was as mad as he had ever been, "This is not the way things are supposed to work and you know it. Send him back up here or I'll sue." Satan laughed uproariously, "Yeah, right. And just where are YOU going to get a lawyer?"

Two nations divided by a common language and all that - "corn" simply means "grain" if you go back to its Latin root and has been used to refer to the dominant grain in many cultures, hence in English English it often means "wheat". What North Americans call corn, we'd usually call "sweet corn" or "maize".

+Fussinated The maze in the US was originally called indian corn. It was later shortened to just corn. The English thought it to be inferior and only fit for indians. Every common language has different words for the same thing. A person from Maine speaks differently than one from Mississippi. The same can be said for different areas of Britain.
