Yes also while Joel was trying to hide his memories of clementine during the procedure he brought her into that memory of him being bathed in the sink as a baby, and his mother is singing the song “Oh my darling…” and the eraser guys erased that memory because thats where he brought the memory of clementine. Really sad

Saw this movie for the first time in 2006. 2019 and I'm never sick of looking at it. I like the concept of meeting a random stranger and a connection ensues from that moment on. He's introverted and she's free spirited but they're carrying on a conversation like they're very familiar with each other (even in the scenes when they first met each other).

Wait you do know they did know each other right? The start of the movie is actually the beginning. They just had thier memories mostly erased atleast anything doing with each other. Although as you can see they share a bound that connects them even when having no memories together thier love goes beyond that. Atleast that's what I got from it.

I love the comments sections from every KZbin clip of this film. Half of us think Joel and Clem had incredible chemistry, the other half think the complete opposite. It tells me that none of us have truly figured out what this movie is really about. The sign of truly great art.

I never noticed this before but Clementines hair was Green when her and Joel met the first time on the beach, and when they broke up it was blue. But now here when they meet again the color of her hair coming in under the blue is green, symbolizing almost a shift, a season change that the color green represents new beginnings and that they will get together again and start their relationship over.

The hair changes with each passing phase of their relationship. It's green when they first meet, red in the beginning of their romance, orange when things start to go bad, and blue in the present time.

I remember watching this movie and Before Sunset the same year. SMDH Hard to meet people that actually value the chemistry you have between each other. I don't care how much you have in common. Sad really.

Notice the difference between her attitude the first time they met and this second time. First time she was much more collected and calm. You can tell the second time how the erasing process messed her up. He wasn't much different though, except he had forgotten some childhood memories

Right! Love this, you’re awesome. You can tell it’s almost involuntary for her to have to speak to him and she is more hot headed, jaded, but also more open and so incessant on gaining his attention. It seems less casual “meet-cute”, more intense 😊

As the audience we know that they were together once but I can totally see where Joel is coming from in being weirded out by this girl and how pushy she was.

And the way they both act and how they both get annoyed by each other is a foreshadowing of why their relationship ended in the first place, she is kinda crazy and outgoing and impulsive and he is an introvert so naturally they get annoyed with each other, but love is weird and for some reason deep down they have a strong connection that draws them to one another
