Hi Laura, we watch your videos and love Mexico. I felt compelled to write this about Mi Casa. We were just there 2 days ago February 5th. We also did a Juan More Taco with Gilberto and it was amazing. Mi Casa was empty from any other customers when we got there. The food was tasteless, I sent my shredded pork back, my wife had lobster, a bit dry. The bill was $150.00 USD. I Objected, he took some $25.00 off the bill, it was the worst experience and food our entire time we were in San Jose Del Cabo. Edit this one out of your video, MI Casa is awful. Sorry, had to say it.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. I recently received another email about Mi Casa WAY overcharging people for drinks ($20 for a margarita!). I cannot edit a video once it's already live on KZbin, but I will pin this comment and hopefully people can see it before they head there!

We began visiting San Jose in the mid 70's there were fewer than 5 thousand residents. The airport was near Cabo San Lucas. There were bo paved roads in either town. Today our have a home up on the East Cape. Love the people and the area. Have not visited San Lucas in over ten years.

Cabo San Lucas or Puerto Vallarta ???
@laura-bronner3 жыл бұрын
I much prefer the beach towns of the west coast - Sayulita, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, La Paz (the beaches here are SO calm because they face the Sea of Cortes), Puerto Vallarta is also wonderful and if you rent a car from PV and drive south along the coast to manzanillo you'll find some of the best beaches! There's also the Oaxaca coast like Huatulco and Puerto Escondido, both amazing

Are there spanish speaking people in san jose del cabo?
@marcwilson18103 жыл бұрын
I grew up in San Diego (where the Mex food is great), and I've lived in San Jose del Cabo for the past 4 years. There are some good restaurants here, but the Mexican food is generally not that great. \\moist of the time it's targeted at tourists, not return diners, and as a result it's usually made from cheap ingredients but dressed up to look interesting. I've been to Mi Casa in San Jose several times. it really is a beautiful setting, but the food and service has been marginal at best. I will say that the Mi Casa in San Lucas is a bit better, but still their Mexican food is quite ordinary. Obviously when a customer is recording their meal for posting on KZbin, the restaurant is going to put their best foot forward. But the level of service and quality shown in this video isn't typical.

Why is dining out in Mexico so expensive compared to other countries in Southeast Asia that have similar income levels? For instance, in Thailand, and pretty much everywhere else in SE Asia, I can get a meal and be full from a humble roadside food stall for $2-3USD. In Mexico, that would be the price of a single taco. A chips and guacamole appetizer would like $8USD at a restaurant. That is insanely expensive for a country where the AVERAGE wage is only $13USD per day. For international standards, comparing to developed countries, food prices in Mexico is reasonable, but relative to their income, Mexico is expensive compared to SE Asian countries that have relatively similar income levels. I am a big foodie, and I want to explore Mexico mainly for eating, but looking at how costly eating out in Mexico is, it's not something I can do every day for every meal like I can in SE Asia (and even in China is highly affordable). I am a Canadian btw.

it's very silly to hear someone say good luck. when someone is eating something new. It is like predisposing the mind of the other to eating something strange or ugly. I worked for a long time in the US in companies that made sausages and hams that most people in this country consume. Here we used various types of intestines, stomachs, livers, kidneys, etc. to make these products. Just in case. what you ate in soup was "Menudo" It is made with the stomach of the cow. But what you ate in tacos was cow tripe. They are very different things

Jackie Trueblood Just a friendly information. sausages and various similar products are manufactured with these products. I worked there. Also shrimp and seafood. They are the so-called vultures of the seas or rivers. Because they feed on dead animals and waste from the bottom of the waters. So are the pigs on earth. That is why the bible forbade them. But of course. Another apostle came and said that that was fine. So. Everything is a matter of taste
