Brandon Beavis Investing great video! Just something I think you should have talked, when talking about dividends. The ETFs that accumulate are also a good option. Because they make use of the compound interest and don’t pay taxes every year.

As a Canadian myself I find it pretty sad that we don't have access to such great information about finance on the internet! So this video was really helpful to me. I wanted to start investing into REITs, especially the Ishares S&P/TSX Capped REIT Index ETF, but now that you have spoken about the MER, I am kinda afraid! Their MER is at 0.61% and the management fees is at 0,55% which seems to be a little high. This is my first time investing into REIT etf and I don't want to mess up.

Hi Brandon, I’m thinking buying of XIU as a first ETF for my portfolio, but have an account question. Even though this tracks the TSX 60 index, it also mentions S&P 500 within it. Would this be safe to buy within a TFSA as it tracks a Canadian index, or does it mean that due to the S&P 500 aspect it needs to go within an RRSP?

Hi Brandon, I greatly appreciate your informative videos. My question is: When investing in an ETF and lets say its an ETF for the top 500 companies. When you mentioned that ETFs don't have much flexibility, does that mean that if I bought an ETF on say June 28, that my ETF would be fixed to those exact 500 companies whether they exist or not in say 20 years when I decide to sell my ETF, or do those companies get replaced and the ETF updates automatically to reflect the current Index of the top 500 companies?

Hi Brandon, I understand that the liquidity of an ETF is primarily dependent on its underlying assets and its trading volume secondary. That being said , what is considered a healthy trading volume of ETF's in the secondary market for liquidity risk , some funds like the QQC.F is trading with volume of less than 10k in the secondary market. It also holds primarily its American ETF (QQQ) instead of physically owning stocks directly. Could you please explain the potential liquidity risk of this example?

Hi Brandon, I’m pretty new to investing and just need some clarification. So I understand that an advantage of investing in ETFs over mutual funds is that the MER% is typically a lot lower since it is being passively managed. However ETFs also demand brokerage commissions when buying and selling. My question is can it be potentially more costly to invest in a ETF if the MER% + Brokerage commissions >= Mutual fund MER%? Also what variables are factored in when calculating brokerage commissions?

Would you hold an ETF in your RRSP or TFSA? Assuming you're wanting to hold for 30 years. American etfs do better than tsx but I don't want my dividends to be taxed? If I hold in my TFSA my growth won't be taxed but my dividend will be? Any thoughts would help. Thanks.

ETFs also have investment themes or specific sectors - like you have mentioned / With a broad based index - the sectors are weighted according to the country's economy / Within Canada 🇨🇦 - i like ZLB - and I use this ETFs an anchor.. and I'll add individual stocks positioned in my preferred sector... but as a teacher - you're excellent 😂 - and its a process of learning that's a matter of time to absorb.. And learning will continue over a lifetime.. / Your guidance is superb !

Thanks for the video! How many different ETFs do you recommend a person to buy? Say I have $5000 to $9000 in my TFSA, should I buy 1-3 different ETFs, or like 5+ different ETFs? Assuming I find 5+ that I may be interested in and that they all have different enough holdings from each other. Since ETFs are already diversifying, is it better to diversify further or focus on a few? Thanks in advance!

Great video, thanks! I have several mutual funds that I've intended to switch to ETFs in the past two years. However, personal businesses took priority and my full attention, so that switch never materialized. Now, with the pandemic situation and the world markets at low levels, I wonder if is worth now to do the move from MFunds to ETFs, or wait for a slight recovery. I assume that the markets situation is affecting both MFs and ETFs alike and I am still being charged higher rates for my MFs, so my preliminar conclusion is that I should complete the switch regardless of the current market situation. Any advise on this? Thanks a lot.

Hey Brandon, really informative video thank you! One question, you mentioned that the ETF you choose doesn't really matter when you're deciding between a few that track the same index. In this case what exactly is the purpose of having others such as Vanguard or iShares, etc.? What makes them different from each other to go with one over the other? It is odd since some have higher dividend yields than others.
