Stoked not to see too many skateboard tricks, as an old timer dinosurfer I love the beautiful carves and long lines and while the judging is always subjective, either guy could lay claim to that final and personally I would have called it a draw.

My two favorites non-brazilian surfers right there, Jack reminds me of Medina due to not having the best style, but definetly being one of the best athletes overall. And Ethan reminds a lot of AI, style and strenght at its best

wave for wave. these two guys are the epitome of perfect surfing on a canvas that lends to beautiful carve surfing. A pity that someone had to lose this awesome final. On saying that Ethan surfed the perfect heat. His transitions from rail to rail were flawless and aesthetically pleasing to watch. Jack's ability to recover from radical positions he gets his board in is uncanny. this is all next level. Though I must say I have really enjoyed the backhand attack....reminiscent of a young OCCY from the movie 'Pump'.

gotta give credit to jack for his attitude toward more radical approach in this heat. He was taking way more risks, and had there been a few follow up sets he would have got this one absolutely. Ethan was great though. credit given where credit due, on both sides.

Idk guess I watched a different heat… Jacks turns looked way more critical to me. Ethan smooth but always a touch ahead of the curl. Jack took it vert and blew the tail Im the most critical part of the waves.

You musta been watching the heat I did (Russian hacking, no doubt)... those Cozy Bear bastards somewhow made Ewing's swoops look like swoops instead of carving cuts, with the board only getting on edge when he swooped it back leftward so that the face steepness made it look on edge... without the maddening inconvenience of actual edge-work. Hell, one of Jack's laybacks was more carved-into.

I was wondering how Ewing won when I first heard…”using his priority”. 🙄 I love how in the WSL, “using priority”, works to the point of completely dropping in on the next guy who WAY out positioned you. Jack got robbed. Judges clearly wanted E to win and you see that in the scores. Too bad that J flailed at the end on that wave that he "faked". He was super aggressive on the early sections and I woulda give him the final based off his other waves with that final attack to push him over the edge.

How many other surfers have to turn off these commentators.?Overblown opinionated poop coming out of their mouth... The judging is a joke if you do something worth a 10 in the beginning of the day you get a four but if you do something worth a five at the end of the day ,/final you get a eight or a 9... The fact this is the only professional League .means surfing is losing... If you check the surfing from the women 11 years ago it was more progressive than it is now . Nike 6.0 leave a message on KZbin. this is due to the judges wanting old rail surfing...
