Great surfing Ethan. But sometimes I wonder if all these slash and burn lip punchers make love like they surf. Two ways to do either, rape or finesse. There's little finesse in the modern surfing style. ...more about "Can you do this?". Contests exacerbate the issue. Look at some old clips of Mark Richards, David Nuuhiwa, Jeff Hackman, Terry Fitzgerald, and the like. The wave is a lover, treat her as such :)

Ethan, what ever happened to surfing for fun? There is a surf world far away from contests. As soon as you want to "make it" in the contest world, you have missed the whole essence of surfing. Just like musicians spend their life trying to be pop stars, surfers trying to be winners and famous at an art form, most will be disappointed that their love becomes their job which many hate. Ever know a pro surfer that "made it"? Most miss those days where they just surfed for the love and fun of it. Sounds negative, huh? Advice: make a career for yourself that allows you to surf any time you want. I've known pro musicians and surfers that have soured against their career because they wanted FAME... fame doesn't equal happiness....
