M T M T The Kardashians pretty much started the trend yeah that’s true, but you seem to miss the biggest point yet again. Most of the chicks that look up to the Kardashians and are so called ‘influencers’ at this moment look the exact same way. So the Kardashians may have started this terrifying trend, but the people that came after took it to an even bigger scale and now alot of those ‘influencers’ promote the ‘pseudo ethnic whitegirl look’, so trying to correct the OP for saying what he said is pointless, as the Kardashians are no longer the only ones promoting this shit.

It's just an extension to the magazine era, but now it's not only looks, but fake personality that is being advertised to young kids. No water depression and suicide rates keep going up when you're surrounded by the unobtainable, and being told this is what success "looks" like.

@Mama Bean And whose fault is that? Getting rid of the Kardashians is not going to help. Women squished their organs to obtain a small waist, banded their feet into tiny squares, and obtained plastic surgery long before the Kardashians even existed. Even if they didn't, would a young girl not feel insecure around an attractive woman just walking down the beach? Stop blaming women and "the media" for insecurity, girls have always been insecure, that's just how they are.

@captinflamig5 жыл бұрын
What study is this from?
@ndeyefaye81255 жыл бұрын
@@MrJimmyTide Of course those are factors. But I'm talking specifically about the increase in the past decade among young girls specifically. It has been well documented that concern over physical appearance and conformity to beauty standards is and has always been a source of emotional distress among young girls. Lack of emotional support at home is obviously a huge issue. But we have to acknowledge that the vast majority of (very) young girls (and guys) are bombarded with images of fake tits and fake asses (that are on top of that heavily retouched) multiple times per day, every day. It used to be magazines, now it's in their pockets. That has to be dangerous for mental health. The problem isn't only that "they are so insane over external physical appearance", it is that our culture in general validates women (and men to a lesser extent) on the basis of physical appearance. And the requisites for that validation are getting further and further from reality.

With the fake glam shots and b.s. plastic surgery icons like the Kardashians pushed in our faces 24/7, people are much more inclined to feel bad about their natural looks. @liisapaakkanen15915 жыл бұрын
@Sky Dome Why does that work with African-American? Or Native American? You can literally have one ethnic ancestor generations ago and be labeled as African-American or Native American. Saying that it doesn't apply to Armenian ancestors is just hypocritical. They aren't even close to white passing.
@liisapaakkanen15915 жыл бұрын
@Sky Dome Well tell it to those guys then. "Sorry, but even though you have darker skin and have been raised to the African-American culture you are not black. You're white because the fact that your skin is darker doesn't matter. Only thing that matters is that you only have one African-American grandparent and everyone else is white. No matter if your skin is darker and you experience racism because of it, you still are white." Bitch please. It doesn't work like that! If you have any close ethnic ancestors you can't be white. You can be white passing, but you still are not white. And Kardashian sisters aren't even white passing. They don't look even remotely white. Google Kim K Paris Hilton and think who is the white one in the pictures. Put old Kim K in a group of white girls and you can immediately spot who's the ethnic one. She stands out from the group of white girls because she is ethnic and looks like it.

Morgann McManus Tbh the woman deserves it she is horrible and manipulative! I don’t understand how u can be a fan of her. Always plays the victim too she’s so childish

CavR12 CR I never said I’m a fan of her. I’m saying that the fact he called someone who’s relatively small and then compared her to a “beached whale” is incredibly hurtful. How do you think women who aren’t as small as her will think of their own body?
