Due to the way shinies worked in gen 3, when you get the Shiny poochyena, the Shiny patch is close so when you soft reset you could get a Shiny starter. So you'd actually DO wanna encounter a Shiny poochyena

In a 4th gen nuzlocke I got swept by the second gyms Roseraid. (Excuse my lack of proper terms) I had a Grotle and Luxio I trained to around level 18-20 but the Roseraid was level 22 and with grass knot was able to out DPS my healing because it was almost only getting crits and when it didn't use grass knot it would poison me with poison sting first try

For Alakazam, that's why you use Slowbro. Level 15-20 with access to both Body Slam and Thunder Wave, you cripple the bastard and is easy pickings from there. Lol! Pokemon with Dragon Rage make quick works of him, too. Granted all of these options are reserved to none rentals, of course.

I remember a few months ago I started a pokemon sapphire nuzlocke. One of my best pokemon was poma, my tanky beautifly lad. He just destroyed everything in his path and I was very much attached and possibly a little too cocky cause during that one rival battle known for being difficult, Brendan killed poma with a crit! I sat there, on my couch, sat my ds down, and cried for 10 minutes, finished the battle and just lost all motivation to continue that nuzlocke. I used to like Brendan. Now he's my mortal enemy and must be destroyed at every turn.

I feel your pain, man. Back when played Battle Revolution, I had a whole list of Pokemon that I always hated encountering. Forretress was the worst offender because of all its resistances, immunity to Toxic, stall tactics, and it usually knew Explosion. Others mons were known for using Explosion as well, and I also dreaded them, but Forretress was particularly annoying. Some others I always felt like I never stood a chance against were Alakazam, Sharpedo, Scyther/Scizor, Octillery, Jynx/Froslass (I loved using Dragon-types), Altaria, Spiritomb, Sableye, and any mons that were notorious for using One-Hit KO moves.

Actually, sending out a Macargo would not instantly vaporize or melt the surroundings. The surface of the sun is a lot less hot than the core, which is where all of the energy is coming from. The ground underneath Macargo would quickly melt, leaving a trail of lava behind it wherever it goes. Any grass underneath would burn immediately, and any puddles of water it went through would turn to steam. If it got hit by a strong water type attack, it would create steam until it had completely hardened and couldn't move. Standing near Macargo would be like being in an oven and you would receive severe burns from conduction and the light it produced, possibly including ultra violet waves. Stay too close for too long and your body would be desiccated while being lit on fire. The speed would depend on the distance. The same thing would happen to nearby plants, especially since Macargo doesn't move very fast, so anything nearby that can't get away will be bombarded with heat for a long time. Keep in mind that these affects would only be strong when you are close to Macargo. Further away, you'd just feel warm and the air currents would change, and even further away you wouldn't feel anything at all. 18000 F is very hot, but is not going to make the world end, so just keep your distance and don't let Macargo get anywhere near plants or wooden structures.

I caught a shiny lairon in a platinum randomizer nuzlocke. I was training it so it would be on par with the rest of my team. I encountered a togekiss and I thought: "Lairon is pretty bulky and is super effective, he can take it." But I forgot togekiss gets aura sphere for some reason and it oneshot. I ended up losing a pearl nuzlocke to a kricketot. I somehow got critical hits on most of my encounters, so I only had 2 pokemon: my piplup and starly. The starly got killed because of a random crit from my rival. I later encountered a kricketot and tried to get it into red health before catching it. I didn't realize the kricketot used bide, and I ended up losing the nuzlocke because of a goddamn cricket.

One story I remember whilst this Pokémon didn't cost me the nuzloke completely It did set the stage for that: My first ever randomised nuzloke was Soul Silver and I lost my starter Walrein in the first gym and my best pokemon Raichu in the second gym bot were killed by the same species of pokemon SWALOT Because of these 2 poorly timed losses I wiped right outside of Goldenrod city to a camper trainer who ironically had a Lugia 😂

I lost my starter in emerald (it was a mudkip) to a seedot i was walking in the grass looking for my encounter then about a couple seconds later a seedot apeared so i teied to just weaken it then it started to store energy so i thought my mudkip could survive it almost did but it crits and there go's my mudkip
