I love the sarcasm and can you froth milk in a french press?
@Jan.H.
@Jan.H. 11 ай бұрын
yes it gives textured milk with foam for latte art, he made a video about it before, you heat the milk put it in the french press and do 5 big pumps and about 35 micro pumps or you can use cold milk to make cold foam

This just made me realise that preparing food or drinks is a science project. Hell, everything can be if overanalised. A game can be made into a theory. Theories has roots in philosophies. Over time, history, philosophy turned into science as the people practicing it collected observations. Searching conclusions to their questions. Can everything then be counted as philosophy? Do these complicated instructions in this video make this drink even more enjoyable because it took actual work, effort, into making a specific taste? Conclusion: I'm high.

I understand that you might do all this if you were chasing the 'best' coffee out of a french press. Realistically, the easiest method is to buy pre-ground beans, chuck them in a french press with boiling water (dont listen to anyone who says it has to be cooler, it won't burn the coffee and you'll probably get more benefit from it staying hotter longer) and then you wanna let it sit for four minutes, give a lil stir to knock the grounds down and spoon out the floating scuzz, then leave for another 3/4 minutes (so grounds can settle). Then push the press down but only about half way, theres no need for it to touch the bottom as that'll just disturb the grounds and might knock it up into the coffee you'll be drinking. Then just pour it into whatever cup you have available, when you get to the end keep an eye out for any dregs and grounds to try avoid getting that in your cup. I tend to make 2 cups at a time (at 16g for 250ml or 32g/500ml) and like to make the second drink an iced coffee (so I don't have to worry about it cooling while i enjoy the first). If you make two cups and only want to drink one you can pour the coffee into a seperate container and keep it in the fridge for later! You'll want to seperate it from the grounds though to stop it brewing.

It's pretty much a necessity when your only access to water is hard water or just water that tastes, odd Perfectly fine and safe but odd At that point it's either - Get a filter with RO/UF and mineralisation and then get good tasting water Move out Or buy distilled water and add minerals Kinda obvious what's the easiest choice is

“If I used distilled water for my coffee it would taste disgusting.” What do I tell my folks who have access to bottled, purified drinking water but wont quit buying distilled? They seem to be under the impression that purified drinking water is as the same as our extremely hard, nigh-undrinkable tap. They don’t care about the taste of their coffee. To them coffee is something they choke down every morning without even finishing, anyway. No wonder they can never relax, they don’t seem to care about the quality of their own experiences.
