Thanks for posting these. One of my cousins worked at Gladhills at that time and worked on the pullers, Coleman's in particular. I'll share this with him and see if it jogs any memories!

We met Coleman and Mary Ellen at the Buck in 1974. We traveled many many miles with them and stayed with them wherever they lived. I was confused when I saw your tractor at Bowling Green. I knew the 4010 is in New. York. In 74 he had the newer hood on but I did see a pic on Facebook that had your hood on. That hood must have been on prior to 1974. I built a scale model of the 4010 and the Buck sled. I'll post it on face book sometime. A side note. MaryEllen is in a nursing home in Seaford, De. Sad to say she has dementia. It started about 3 years ago.

@@billmichellegrimes2135 I was at a PTPA meeting one time and I think Coleman was there also. I'm not sure if I am remembering it correctly or not, it was a long- long time ago, but I heard a story about someone giving him a pair of John Deere shorts that he would wear at the pulls. I don't know if it was true or not. I do know that I got involved with pulling at a young age and with the PTPA in 1975. I met a lot of great people and had some of the best times of my life and often think back on those days.

I just added a strip of 1/2" steel square stock down the bottom edge of the head with countersunk machine screws. Then smear on the permatex. Let me know how the project turns out.

What size injector you running?
@billmichellegrimes2135 Жыл бұрын
They are John Deere 4430 injectors. I drilled out the 4 hole tips, I think to .025 or maybe a little bigger. I wanted to run what they had back then.
