Let's not kid ourselves, the reason MEV exists is mostly because we don't have reliable timestamps. Centralized systems solved this already using atomic clocks. There are atomic clocks that are like $2000, so why can't we just use those to create a decentralized clock?

@@realBarronTrump It doesn’t. Solana doesn’t timestamp transactions other than by “block height”, the “time” part of Solana is about synchronizing block production. Solana helps somewhat just by nature of being faster, because MEV opportunities are harder to find if you only have a few hundred ms.
