Among the most powerful kingdoms in the medieval period was Solomonic Ethiopia, a Christian kingdom that sought out contact with Western Europe in the Late Middle Ages. This week on The Medieval Podcast, Danièle speaks with Verena Krebs about contact between Solomonic Ethiopia and Western Europe, how historians have misconstrued Ethiopian interests in the past, and what we can learn when we dig into primary sources.

Greta episode, I am an Eastern-Orthodox Convert from Protestantism. I love learning abiut history's,espeically Christans history's. Ethiopian and the Coptics as well as other Oriental Orthodox have played a very important role and have many things in common with Eastern Orthodox, more so then the Roman Catholic church of Second Vatican. Thankyou for beinh professional and unbiased. This your guest is very knowledgeable. Many people in the west especially America view history either through a Latin/Roman Catholic lens or Protestantism lens. But history's paints a much broder non European Centric non white washed history.

The contents of the podcast is amazing except the frequent laugh of the host which makes no sense at all. It is an amazing history of proud African leaders!
