Ethiopia is the country in the world most affected by fatal road accidents. Trains and trucks travel on infrastructure from another age. For trucks, in the south of the country, the transport of goods and people is done in the rain and on slippery tracks... However, there is no other alternative, because the plane is too expensive and the train no longer really works, except for one. It crosses half the country, from the city of Dire Dawa, to the border of Djibouti. It is the only link between the most remote villages. It travels 310 km in more than 10 hours, when everything goes well. This train, the cheapest in Ethiopia, stops in all the villages, like a local bus. For the last train that continues to operate, it is derailed, and breaks down repeatedly. The Ethiopian train is the oldest, but also the most dangerous in the world! From the Danakil Desert to the rainy peaks of the Kaffa region, welcome to Ethiopia!
