So why this church is not a part of the UNESCO World Heritage list?
@Marcus-dw5ly Жыл бұрын
Because there's no picture of the white Jesus anywhere in there.

@@Marcus-dw5ly its a quite racist statement. Religion has nothing to do with the black and white. Could be possible that the country doesn’t focus on it,

@@Travelwithdinda The prerequisite of being a racist/white supremacist is to be white. Also, if the color doesn't matter, then why is it that his picture is ALWAYS WHITE? If I put a black Jesus in a white church, would white people go there?
@jhonywalker1168 Жыл бұрын
as Ethiopian i say their are more than 100 Church's just like this one which are carved out of a mountain and only few of them are recognized by the UNESCO hopefully in the near future most of them will be recognized, plus it's better not to bring politics and racism in Christianity because its a universal religion which is for all.@@Travelwithdinda

I bet it was built when the water level was up and theybwould paddle to it
@pgikiru3 ай бұрын
That would have been thousands if not millions of years ago. The founders of the church deliberately chose that elevated site for the church. The difficulty of accessing the church was a test of faith

If priest stayed decades up there what did they eat and how did they shower?
@serawitgeteye23056 ай бұрын
Priest like this they don't go hungry like us. The more they fasting and praying it give them strength. Go on KZbin or Google find what they eat or whey eat.
