Bosnia and Herzegovina are already applying for European Union, but face many outcomes to fulfill. It will be the last country in Europe to be accepted in the European Union, after Kosovo.

Bosnia gets its name from the "River Bosna". Herzegovina gets it name from the German word "Herzog" meaning Duke. So Herzegovina means the land of the Duke.

They're not all Slav's they just speak it. The vast majority are paleolithic Europeans. In fact Eastern Bosnia was mostly Gothic.

@@visionmission605 There is no "ethnic bosniak". That is an artificially created identity in 1993, purely for political reasons. No history book before then ever mentions so-called bosniaks. Bosnia was inhabited by Serbs going back to the 7th century. That is what history shows. They are just Serbs that became Muslim during the Ottoman occupation.

@@visionmission605 'Bosnian' is not an ethnicity and never was. Bosnia is just a region or geographic location, like Macedonia. Serbian and Croatian are ethnicities. The Bosnian Kingdom in the middle ages was ruled and populated by Serbs. The division in Bosnia was caused because of the Ottoman Turks who came there with their religion.

@@stevie6621 ?...Please just look up the wikipedia article about bosnias history. i can't argue with someone who just says no to every argument. i didn't say that ,,bosnian" is an ethnicity. ,,bosnian" is everybody in bosnia and before the war everybody called themselves bosnian and not bosnian serb or croat. it was called yugoslavia in yugoslavia because of the diversity and best culture and music. all rock bands bjelo dugme, crvena jabuka, plavi orkestar......are from sarajevo. and how could bosnians be serb when they were never orthodox. bosnia had their own church, which the pope didn't like, then turned muslim for better positions in ottoman society.

Unfortunately we need foreigners to make more international schools (perhaps some free of tuition) to educate early about what a healthy society looks like. Sarajevo is much better than rest of cities and towns. Hercegovina needs more international education systems with mixed teachers.

As a Canadian I’m confused about this very complex topic. Trying to understand it by reading and listening with an open mind . I’ve been to these countries and find your history fascinating and your countries beautiful. Religious fervour and colonialism was the scourge in my country and we are only now trying to right many wrongs in our past. So sad that we are always divided by those who want power and control.

@@maplesyrup7626 the Muslim population in Bosnia increased after the war. A large part of that is due to the north west of Bosnia being given to the Muslim Federation. Serbs always lived in Bosnia it was never a functioning independent state since Islam arrived. It was only ever united when there was no Islam. We have a right to leave & we will leave.

it would be rare to see an Orthodox Serbian with a Muslim Bosnian because of the pain and tension from the past. because Bosniak’s suffered from religious/ethnic cleansing, it is difficult for many to grasp why people would mix their ethnicities and religions in that regard.
