Etho MindCrack SMP - Episode 118: Who's Hitting Me?!

Lately I've been spending most my time on the Mindcrack server building the nether hub. Today is no exception! I show you the progress that has been made, and we work at getting a few more things done on this massive building project.

Hey Etho! Great idea with protecting the flowstone! Really helps and will prevent a never ending repair project. I'm not sure, tho, if people will be looking outside the hub, so I don't know if you guys are planning to make it look nice outside, so maybe cover the domes a little better? Idk.. Maybe put a layer of clay over it so the flowstone is protected? Up to you tho, just my opinion!

Haven't had the time to watch your videos at all recently, so I'm currently 2 months behind now, which is about 16 episodes behind at this point D: so I've got a lot of catching up to do when I can, but at least I'll have a lot of your Mindcrack videos to watch through whenever I go on KZbin for a few hours or so :) Although I've seen most of the Nether hub stuff through bdubs videos, its still good to go back and see it in its 'in-progress' state here! That was a weird 'invisible zombie' glitch you had there though :o haha! Btw, I never actually noticed Genny's little mansion front setup above the RV there, which is a pretty cool use of that space (as intended too), so its just little things like that I'm noticing now that I'm watching through your older eps here!

Haha good luck with that one then D: I've been watching through Pak's 'Magic Farm 2' series from the start gradually, and I'm almost coming up on ep 21, the most recently uploaded one on KZbin, but because he always streams magic farm 2 stuff, then he's like more than twice as many episodes ahead of what hes put on KZbin so far! Still, that's nothing compared to you having 140+ eps of Etho's Mindcrack to watch through :o :P

If I watch between 2 and 4 videos a day, and he only posts 1 every couple of weeks, it won't take long. That is assuming I don't watch any of my other subscriptions.

Yeah you'll have to find a balance between them somehow, because if you stop watching your other subscriptions completely, you'll then have videos from all of them to watch by the time you get through Etho's Mindcrack series, even if you watched 2-4+ videos a day!

I usually only watch Sethbling's Mindcrack and Zexyzek's vids. I didn't even watch the UHC 13. Once I get done with this series though, I can catch up on that.

instead of using the piston to make the minecarts go, if you used a redstone torch underneath the dispenser, which was conected to an rs-nor latch, you could have them get in the cart and press the direction to go to move. You would need a detector rail to flip the latch back for the return though. This would be a hassle to do but would be much more convenient than accidentaly sending a minecart all the way down your tunnel because you were to slow to get in.

Etho you should really consider giving doc a rail line too currently he's not really that far but in the future he may move. And think about all the good laughs they'll have when they see the rail line going somewhere so close.

They can spawn with potion effects, but there were no curls which shows that you have a potion effect on

Well don't forget they will be one for Guudeland, probably have a few other community builds that are away from spawn that will be used. Need one for the Ender Farm [maybe] might have one for like a blaze farm. Figure they will build new bases eventually and might not be inline off their old hub point.

One day it would be nice to be able to walk around in the hub. Of course, when you guys are done with it. It's really lovely to watch, but for me at least, the structure is hard to follow lol. Like I don't feel like I know my way around it. It's weird, but you know.

Etho for Death Games armor... you could throw Fire protection on one set and Projectile Protection on another set so the attacker can know who they are targeting and have a better chance. Doc had a great jump on Bdubs but his fire sword wrecked him. If doc had some resistance to fire it might have been more even. Decked out Diamond Swords/Armor are just too hard to beat even with the surprise element and potions.

I think they said it's so they can get to other places on the server, like farms and other popular places. So there will be tunnels for those.

Etho. It is still my belief that water should be placed in the Cauldrons under the bushes around the Nether Hub :D It would add a nice splash of blue and brighten up each entrance-way Just a thought...

For the return minecart system you should have a detector rail hooked up to a dispenser witch fires a arrow at the mine-cart witch automatically breaks it then gets stored into the hopper but considering you are running low on dispensers then that may be hard :) just an idea

You should make an exit for the ladder on the top of the nether hub - sounds like a PRIME spot for hunting Ghast tears. (would also take very little work)

You should have bdubs and ethos faces right on those spots above the entrances, like that one already there(bdubs and etho because they made the nether hub), Then put guude on a third side(because he owns the server). Then for the fourth one have a giant fight to the death with only deathgames armor in the townhall, winner gets his face on the fourth side! (etho,Bdubs and guude get to watch over them like gods =D). Like so Etho Can See!!

Etho the zombie thing was because if a bug where you go through a nether portal but in the over world you player is still so NPC's can still attack you.

if ghasts only need one central block and a 5x5x4 air space around, it should be possible to create a ghast spawner. it would spawn zombie pigmen too, but you can just make them drop to their death, whereas ghast will simply fly away and clear the spawning space.

Apparently, Ghasts will still attempt to shoot if there is a lava fall between the player and it.

Not all zombies pick up items. Also, zombies don't despawn over time, they despawn over distance.

It was a bug because there are no partical effects and you should be able too see them if the zomb had a potion effect. and the zombie did not hit constantly
