Yeah, for a while after enchanting became a thing, anything that was enchanted with efficiency broke anything that you could break with your fist more quickly. Many people used enchanted shovels to break all of those things because they were cheaper to craft than axes.

Using the snapshots in the LP is a great idea. It makes your videos even more interesting and is a good way for us to discover some of the features of the patch in advance, so they don't wreck our builds.

Hey Etho, the new room could possibly be used for a library and as for storage you can use mine carts with chests and glitch them into the bookshelf block. So you can access the chest by right clicking the bookshelf and have the chest completely hidden. - Lachy.

You should put a clock tower in the town center that lights up when it is night. You can make a day/night sensor with a villager, a door and a pressure plate. Keep up the good work etho.

Etho, you could consider digging vertical "tap" shafts every 16 blocks or so, in a radius around your constructions, and light up every cave you dig into. That way you don't have to search around as much looking for caves... just dig into them from above. And yes, dig responsibly. ;2)

Hey Etho. Just wanted to let you know, a while back you had the idea of setting up two snow golems beside each other to harvest snow faster. You can do that now. Goes through an iron shovel in about 20 seconds.

Hey Etho, for Emerald city if you're worried of the villagers going back thorugh the doors, use soul sand under the wiring. Its smaller than every other block so its a one-way entrance for the villagers.

Etho, i think the problem with your villagers is for them to consider something a "house" it has to have a 3x3 area inside. i think since your underground "house" is only 2 wide they don't consider it a house and that's why they don't come out during the day. Thumbs up so he can see!

The design you put above your mushroom farm looks like a baby carriage; the wooden arch representing the cover over the baby's head, the upside down stone brick arch looks like the part that holds the baby, and the four glass blocks looks like the four (or eight) wheels.

With eff. Iv on a shovel/spade, its plenty fast enough, and as for the second part of your comment, I think Etho himself discussed the pros and cons, from what I remember, the shovel/spade will break twice as fast, so that would mean 2 shovels/spades (2 diamonds) would do what 1 axe (3 diamonds) could do, still saving diamonds. Hope this answers your question.

I think they see a path through the hole when they are in the lower floor. Maybe if you detect their absence in the house and close the floor with sticky pistons they would try to go to the center. Also you could use the soul sand trick to create a one way path for them underground. Good luck!

I think the reason why the villagers are not breeding is because there are those villagers trapped in front of the entrance to the emerald city.The villagers maybe are considered to be members of the city (32 blocks according to wiki) and therefore the city is fully populated in corresponding with the number of doors. What are you talking about. He put the doors there for villager breeding but it's purpose is also to make the villagers activate the tripwire. He can put the doors somewhere else and have the dispensers hooked up on a day/night censr. Have a nice day :)

Etho: I had an idea about the doors for Emerald City! Place four doors around the fountain and have doors under them on each side. Place stone slabs on top of the doors underground. I'm sure they will do it then! Your loved viewer, Weird.

Etho, for the villager fountain why not use pistons instead of water currents from dispensers. When the villager activates the tripwire, pistons retract the floor, causing the villager to fall into a water current pushing him to the middle, make a water elevator that forces the villager to swim upwards back into the room, or out of the fountain.

An idea for the library, if u use a piston to push a chest minecart into a bookshelf you would be able to put books inside bookshelfs.

Etho, about the snapshots: as far as I know, pretty much everyone is well in tune with the snapshots. I don't know anyone personally who doesn't read the changelogs, watch a video or two by KZbinrs featuring the changes... we're generally pretty savvy on the snapshots, and I've never heard of anyone not wanting them to be spoiled. It's possible that you might alienate a few viewers but I don't think it's likely.

Did anyone else notice that the slimes suit very well in emerald city? Their color and shape fit with the emerald blocks in the buildings. Maybe you should try and implement them into the city in a witty way, Etho

Etho, it doesn't matter how high the doors are. You can make "seed" doors above ground and it will count down to your Emerald City door count. Height/elevation isn't a factor for counting the doors in a town for villager population.

Etho explained in a mindcrack episode that it's better to use a shovel than an axe for the reason that the shovel takes 1 diamond compared to the 3 for an axe, therefore it's 1.5 times more efficient to use a couple shovels rather than an axe

Etho, I think in underground Village you could built some houses kind of build into the side walls, maybe in two levels with a long balcony around. That way you would have much more doors in that small space, it would also look like a true town carved in stone. Keep playing :)

Because, when this was recorded, the tools really didn't matter. Efficiency had a bug where it would work on anything you can break with no tools. (So, Eff V tools could break wood, glowstone, dirt, gravel, etc. with ease.)

I know you tend to stay away from mods but with optifine you get the option to turn swamp colours of so emerald city would look a little better. But its completely up to you.

Etho, Use blocks sticky pistons beside the pressure plates to push the villagers towards the doors. This will also stop the sunlight coming through from the gap making them want to go towards the doors TimTam_64

Etho, you should make some sort of ore storage room, where you place all your ore blocks after caving and then whenever you want you just go in and harvest the ores with a fortune tool. Saves you the hassle of having to place the ores anytime you need them and it could also be handy on getting a few handy levels if your just short of level 30 :P

I noticed while watching that you have a slime chunk near emerald city. I also noticed that the slimes mirrored the emerald blocks in shape and color. You should do something with that. Perhaps something like the tree farm. You could also make it only spawn tiny slimes to be villagers pets or something... I think that would be really cool! -Incherre

You should make the trading stations resemble bank tellers desks, with a slab on the bottom, and iron bars on the top.
