My inner pedant both heard him say that and laughed along with you AND would love to offer up this fun fact: they're _~technically~_ not the same! A _labyrinth_ is a winding or spiraling single path to the center. A _maze_ has multiple paths that branch and not all will lead to the center/another exit. ...neither definition mentions honey block parkour over lava, though.

Wow. Etho has done Cub's maze in the most unique way. When there was a choice (unknowingly) he always took the hardest possible path and invented new hardest ways to make jumps. I'm pretty sure he is the only Hermit who did not find at least one water breathing potion at the underwater part, the only one who does the ice side of the candle parkour. He nails all the hard parkour jumps that everyone was struggling on (multi-slime jumps, honey around the corner, and the last honey jump). He does the slime jump from the ladder in the small tower instead of the hole above the slime. He now also has the highest score in trivia. Holds space on the vines instead of shift. Hits every button in stage 6. Does the final parkour while the trident guy is shooting. Just a treat to watch.
@clintshidwood4511
@clintshidwood4511 2 ай бұрын
i was amazed at his parkour. ive been watching a few mc lets players here and there for over a decade now and all of them fail to do 2-3 block jumps. yogscast is horrible with this, fail a 3 block jump 3 times in a row and the cheating begins. etho out here doing the 1 block 'sptint jump, jump' combo (not sure what what the official name is, but gives more momentum/distance than sprint jump, used for 4 block jumps) like it's nothing.

@@Greesher You can make some great games in minecraft without touching redstone! (I know, because it's the only way I've been able to make games haha) My friends and I invented a game called Battle Boats, where all you need is boats, weapons, respawn area, and an ice rink (complete with themeing and obstacles, if desired). You try and collect as many of your opponents' boats as you can before the timer runs out, and whoever has the most boats wins. (There's more random rules about fouls and such, but that's enough info to make it yourself, if you want)

Tonight on Hermitcraft, the scariest Halloween movie of the year: Etho vandalizes, tresspasses, steals, sells goods without being properly licensed, throws shade on the police, and attempts to get away with it! Cub's game is very tough and fully fledged for sure, incredible job beating it Etho :D it was tense just watching you and must have been rough playing for so long. I think you should talk to cub and other players about the time your nosebleed took to recover from - a medical emergency is no joke - and see what they think you should count as your time. Thank you Etho for the extra long episode as a holiday treat (please rest up and recover for a while) and Happy Halloween!

Just a note, the "follow the left wall" rule for mazes only works on "simple" mazes (not being pretentious, it's an actual maths term lol), ie mazes where the walls are continuously connected or there's an outer wall connecting everything. If there are some walls in the maze that aren't connected to everything else you end up with loops which defeats the hand on wall approach.
@jackwen04
@jackwen04 2 ай бұрын
Well, as long as the entrance and exit are on the same depth (like a traditional kids maze, with the entrance on one side and exit on the other) you can still follow the left side rule. Of course, cub could put the exit in the floating section to prevent this but it could be a good starting strategy to just follow the left until you reach the exit or the entrance again, because then you'll either solve it or know that at you'll have to follow a more complicated algorithm

This method is what pearl used to get ~40 minutes or so! She said after she learned the maze better it was a lot easier to navigate. But i think her best score was using the left wall method.

@@jackwen04what they are saying is it doesn’t necessarily work if you start in the middle, or if there is multiple levels on top of each other…
@jackwen04

@@VincentBourbeau well, yeah. I noted that. But in the video etho started on one of the sides so one could assume that it would have the exit on the other side, and if it was in the middle somewhere then he could either randomly swap to following the right side or he could follow the tremaux algorithm with his stack of beef lol. I just wanted to distinguish that floating sections with a depth of more than 1 doesn't necessarily mean that you can't follow the left hand rule

You should wait for pearl to have some sort of build (maybe half finished) and build a purpur roof on it, especially if it doesn't fit in. Giving back is important!

What was the bigger moment in cinematic history, do you think? Will Smith asking 'What is this, some sort of suicide squad?' or Etho repeatedly asking if Cub's labyrinth is just one big maze?

Yay for Etho movie content! Loved the varied segments. You actually did phenomenally well with Cub’s Labyrinth! You made that time without finding the water breathing potions in the underwater maze, you took the more difficult path doing Ice first, and you didn’t see the various signs’ hints regarding the ladder shortcuts for different parts of the mazes. Really impressive that you did so well! Hope that your nose is better; make sure that your vitamin K level is good. 😊

GG Etho that labyrinth is madness. Loved the gaff you gave at the beginning, well deserved! The roof is lovely and totally unexpected design, which is always expected of an Etho, really nice! Hehe loved X's description of you landing in the sky (your shop). The design is great! Thanks for a lovely, long episode, very much enjoyable!

This was a fun episode! I love seeing Hermits playing each other's mini games. Also, I like the solution to make Ravager Rush more newbie-friendly/tryhard-hostile. 😂 Having the difficulty increase over the course of the first round seems like it will help balance the game without putting the skill floor so high that some players wouldn't even want to try.

Etho builds are so beautiful that it feels strange to think any part of designing a building could possibly be difficult o.o I guess sometimes it is hard to tell when someone puts off doing a thing because it is difficult, or because they are procrastinating for no real reason. In the first case, constant reminders will be detrimental rather than helpful.
