3rd Life #2: Poorly Kept Secrets

3rd Life is a Minecraft multiplayer server experiment started by Grian. Players are thrown into a tiny 700x700 world with almost no rules, except survive as long as possible.
1st Life: Player names are green. They are not supposed to initiate battle with anyone, only defend.
2nd Life: Same as 1st Life, except their names are yellow.
3rd Life: Player names are red. They get a new goal of eliminating the remaining players. Dying again means they are out of the game and series.

@@bt1234567892010 if I'm honest, I actually disagree with that a bit. Etho is more the type to turn a bit of a blind eye to his friends when it comes to direct confrontation. For instance, if it comes down to it, I don't expect him to go for someone like Tango, even if they don't have a sworn pact. He's more likely to set general traps. He's a relatively honorable player, which is why I always scoff when people peg him as a chaotic player. Chaotic sense of humor? Yes. Chaotic playing style? Less so. Honestly, I'd peg him as a true neutral type of player ;)

this is actually amazing. especially because of how small the world is. Although, if anyone discovers it, it becomes a huge risk as it is one of the easiest ways to get someone into a guaranteed death trap.

The hard part is activating it. If you're being threatened in a specific location, like your base, you can use it to escape elsewhere. You could also use something like a target block (with a bow) to trigger it from within a certain proximity. Or, you could have someone you trust use it if you're ever in danger (maybe using a codeword in chat). Of course, the problem with all of these, as James mentions, is that anyone can theoretically activate it without your consent; and if you happen to be low on health, you'll die. Still, I too would love to see it.

I think a super-secret base is important. Especially after some people get down to their third life, you don't want them to know where to put traps. Also after you hide traps you should sell the locations of the traps to other players. It is a good business practice and then if you kill anyone with the traps they will have less on you because they should have bought the location. Also, you should hire yourself out to make traps for other people. That way you not only make money but also know where the other person's traps are.
