Even though Oman Air is 2-2-2 in J, it seems way superior to EY (and EK!). Oman Air has much better food (dine-on-demand), and an excellent privacy screen, plus IIRC the seats are closer to the windows, not with that gap you show. I've not flown QR (Qatar) but some suggest overrated with a lot of hype. SQ Singapore Airlines is good but for the stupid footwell arrangement. Provided one has a refurbished A333, Philippine Airlines (does not fly to Europe, only Manila, USA and a lot of Asia) is a very good choice from Sydney or Melbourne with 1-2-1 in J and excellent food, way better than you had on Etihad. EY seems unable to decide if it's a premium or semi-budget carrier: your point about cost-cutting was well made.

Thanks for sharing! Yea oman air sounds very impressive. It looks similar to the apex suites o JAL which are amazing too. PR seems good too, but that airport in MNL can be a mess at times.

@@ourtravelsa Agree, but Philippine Airlines' international flights shifted from Terminal 2 to T1 (NAIA Manila) in June 2023, so that will be an improvement. You're correct: JAL and Oman Air feature the same excellent design. Not many airlines have these 'Apex Suites' as media suggests it's an expensive fitout.

Fair! Probably agree with you on the Emirates A380. On the Emirates 777 business class is 2-3-2, so maybe not? 🤔
