We don't get electric shock from neutral wire. But if we touch phase (live) wire we will get shock. reason behind electric shock from phase wire is that current flows when voltage is applied and current flows through low resistance path. •When we touch "phase", our body resistance is lower than bulb resistance and hence current starts flowing through our body ( lower resistance path) and we feel electric shock. •When we touch "neutral" wire our body resistance is more than bulb resistance so current doesn't flow from our body but flows through neutral and atlast goes to ground. so we don't feel any electric shock. ( human body resistance=1k-10k ohms, neutral resistance= 5-10 ohms)
