Thanks Honestly, mental health + addiction. Kept sobering up only to relapse and the further time went by since I touched base with you guys and the label the more anxious I become over doing so and before you realise you shut yourself away for months. But i'm in a much better place loving the teaching industry and the children i work with.

Bob42jh yeah, same. it's a long hard struggle dude, i've kinda just learned to 'live' with it and not feel like shit if i do end up using etc. everyones differnet of course and i can't speak for you, but yeah. All i know is everyone has their own time to do things, and you can't force anyone(especially yourself) to 'quit', and yeah. I don't think there's anything wrong with me, i personally blame the system(ie the war on drugs). I'm lucky to live in a city that has lenient laws and great social safety nets(Australia/Melbourne), where i don't get locked up or whatever for a joint, let alone for opiates, which is my drug of choice(i'm currently on methadone) :P I think that as long as you feel like you are still progressing(physically/mentally/socially/financially etc etc), then that's 'healthy' i guess. I had the last month off work(4 weeks paid annual leave, since i work full time) and in that time, i've basically isolated myself in my room also(i'm not that bad like a hikkikomori like the japanese call them, but yeah, that shit def takes it's toll on you even after a few days, let alone weeks/years/decades.. even more so if you're smoking weed all day and doing other stuff too like benzos and other pills/drugs etc..), and i've also 'binged' too, and basically i start work in a week and i'm kinda dreading it/anxious and am currently detoxing lol but yeah, i'm also excited at the same time because yeah, it's kinda been boring, and as they say, variety is the spice of life my friend :) Stay safe, and hope things get good for you bro

You got a good outlook on things, stay positive and keep being you brother. All the best and good luck with detoxing and the job, you'll be fine. I was in a similiar position a year ago detoxing before i started my current job and i found being at work kepts the w/d's at ease - it took my mind of it.
