What is your opinion about bitcoin ETFs (ETN) ,like VBTC or WBTC , Kai ?
@SmartMoneywithKai2 күн бұрын
If you don't want to hold BTC directly, those could be great options. Though I find them too expensive, plus I prefer owning the actual asset, that way I can use it, move it, earn interest on it as I do now. Just full flexibility which I much prefer vs an ETF. Cheers

The only reason to use etoro is if ure European and want to invest in US etfs.. Only available in CFDs sadly.

Hi and yes, that is yet another reason though I would not suggest to buy US ETF's as European, better to go with UCITS version to avoid things like US estate tax👌

So it is fact that if you have invested in a US ETF with no leverage, you don’t own the asset and it is indeed a CFD?? People are saying that if it’s not leveraged, you do own it?
@SmartMoneywithKai3 күн бұрын
@ No from Europe you cannot own the US ETF it’s still gonna be a CFD. But a UCITS ETF without leverage you will own the real deal 👌

@@SmartMoneywithKai Thanks very much - I can see over the past year the UCITS ETF's are trading similar to the US counterparts which is good!

Hi Kai, I noticed you are invested in CNDX.L and not QQQ. What are the cons of trading in CFD in your opinion? Thanks in advance!
@SmartMoneywithKai5 күн бұрын
Hi mate. Great question. I prefer CNDX.L because it’s a physical ETF listed on the London Stock Exchange, making it tax-efficient and straightforward for long-term investing, especially for investors outside the US. On the other hand, CFDs are better suited for short-term trading due to leverage and the flexibility to go both long and short. The downside of CFDs, in my opinion, is the cost-there are overnight fees, spreads, and potential tax implications depending on your country. Plus, CFDs don’t offer ownership of the underlying asset, so you miss out on dividends. Cheers

@@SmartMoneywithKaiI have been using etoro for quite some time and even if you own an ETF as a CFD you still receive your dividends. For example with SCHD as a CFD, you get your dividends. There is no downside. 👍

@@AlejandroGarcia_Ocorrect, I did switch from SCHD + SCHG to SXR8.DE though, for the sake of owning the actual asset. Feels more secure imo

@@AlejandroGarcia_O Ok, nice to hear that, thanks for sharing, didn't know as I never bought a CFD before. Cheers
