We just put a single one of these on an 18 foot Ram Promaster. It is very sturdy, does not sway or move around on the road driving. You can still see the rear lights and the plate so it doesn't cause issues with law enforcement. On an SUV it might block the plate and lights? Not sure. The van can still pretty much fit in a standard parking spot with the carrier on it maybe hanging out a foot or two. We park the van in the outer edges of lots to be on the safe side but in a pinch you can still get into the front lots that park diagonally with no trouble. It just kind of feels like its part of the vehicle and it's idiot proof. Opening and closing the box and the swing out bar is easy. We can easily get both back doors open on the van which we realized would be a huge problem without any ability to swing one of those cheaper cargo carriers away. Initially the price tag seemed outrageous until we got it and saw how sturdy and well made it is. We can keep a couple folding chairs, 2 beach chairs, a beach tent, a cooler. water shoes, dirty clothes and even a couple of small blow up kayaks. The single one holds a lot of stuff. We don't take it off the van because we have cameras in our driveway at home and everything is locked on this thing - right down to the hitch pin. It would be very difficult to be stolen unless you left it some place overnight or a couple days where a thief would have a lot of time to remove it. We tried to put a couple sets of smaller light weight golf bags and found out if you don't get too greedy trying to put too much else in there but clothes and a couple of folding chairs it works great. Our van wasn't intended to be used for really long camping trips anyway because B Vans aren't like a long trailer. There is just not enough space or comfortable seating in any B type van for really long trips. We choose between a golf trip or a beach trip and found out there is plenty of room in the Yakima and inside the van to be gone about 5 days without wanting to kill each other. When you travel in a B type van you find out very quickly you need something like this carrier or you cant take much with you for recreation purposes. Is it expensive? Yes! But it gave us all the space back inside the van for bad weather to relax inside if we need to.

I need a video on how to change out the locks on a cargo box. Etrailer sent me boxes keyed for different keys.

We don't have a video, but the procedure is pretty easy. Insert the key, and twist it so it's halfway between the lock and unlocked position. Remove the key and insert the # Y8007835 control key. So question ... just thinking outloud here... wouldn't this present laws against it since it may cover rear taillights or license plate???
