The fight starts at 5:01 I felt like I was just a bit overleveled even though I respecced 3 characters in my team.

I just defeated this Guy Today (And Proceeded to beat the game), and I have to say, it took me on surprise. My party was all about using Defender, CPR and Bloody Offense, and this gets rid of that immediately. It was very challenging, there wasn't really too much bullshit, and the theme that was playing made the fight much more epic. I still think that the fact that he was being controlled takes away his character of being a “Tragic Villain", now he is just a Tragic Hero, when I really liked how they did it in Etrian Odyssey 1.

Kind of late, but... I just want to remark that what happens in story mode really fixes one of my biggest gripes about the original. As far as we knew back then, it genuinely would have been better for everyone if you just took Visil's Offer and killing The Core(Primevil) may well have doomed the land. Here, Visil is more concerned about the big picture like I think he should be and gets hijacked by Yggdrasil rather than trying to kill you in the name of Etria's economy.

That's debatable. The Labyrinth was calling for explorers who were coming to Etria, making the city prospere. But just imagine how many died there in the Labyrinth. It's a prosperity built on hundreds if not thousands if lives. Letting the Core of the evil live, knowing that more people will fall to its monsters is not the right thing to do.

@@ArtFenixAsordis I'm talking about the original game. Back then, we had no idea what the core was. It was just there and we killed it. We killed the man who saved the world because we were curious (Yeah, his mode of operation was pretty sketchy) and then proceeded to kill the heart of the labyrinth because we could. For all we knew, that might have begun to undo the world's purification. The remake really cleans that up by giving Visil more at stake than the livelihood of one town, gave a more valid reason for him to try and kill you (even if it doesn't 100% make sense), and stated in no uncertain terms that, yeah, the core's got to go.

@@ArtFenixAsordis Wait... Misinterpreted your reply. My point was that between killing the man who saved the world then dooming it again by killing the thing purifying it and letting a dangerous industry continue, I'd choose the lesser evil. Not that it's the right thing to do. Luckily, Millennium Girl fixed all those issues.

@@Thebluedud yeah. Well, the first game forced you to do genocide of the whole species. Never liked that.

You dont condemn the land, in fact, ygdrassil had cleaned it already, the thing was that the doctor was tryimg to keep his secret to not be dicovered after killing thosands of adventurers just because he wanted to hide, so he tried to hide his killcount, in fact, if he died outside the tree, or he refused and becomes Primevil or Primevil just gets free of the doctor, so it was the best to kill the demon core sonthe tree were to get stagnant and cathatonic forever
