To hear that you can live off the money you make on Etsy is amazing! I'm definitely going to change a few of my product names. Thanks again x

I love your honest, straight-to-the-point way of explaining things. I had an Etsy shop but closed it as I wasn’t getting any sales and got disheartened, but listening to you, I think I just didn’t know how to draw people in. I’m definitely going to check out the Marmalead link and see if I can get my business head back on again. You’ve definitely got a Sub from me, thanks Tink 🤓

This is super good advice and different from what you normally hear! Thank you!! ♥️♥️ Im one year into Etsy… recently hit 50 sales and I’m going to try increasing listings! Also considering buying the art printer so I can make more items.. previously I’ve been getting stuff printed and getting Washi tape made and that’s realllly driven up my cost. I told myself I wouldn’t spend any more money on Etsy till I sold more but it’s just too darn fun…

Thank you for posting this video, it’s super helpful to hear someone talk about it, opposed to reading. I’m a tactile learner. I’m going to look into that Seo class when I get home to a computer. I don’t really have much in the way of funds, but this is something I really want to excel at. I have major anxiety and the last 2 jobs I tried I had major panic attacks and couldn’t go back. This is something I can do, I’ve sold a couple originals and prints at fairs too, nothing off my Etsy yet though. I’m going to try to list a few more things, see if that helps, but after the class! Have a wonderful day Tink!

Hi Tink- Thanks so much for the video. It was informative and really easy to absorb. I subscribed to your channel and will check in with you again, I’m sure. I’m getting ready to open an Etsy shop selling prints of my original artwork… paintings and drawings. I’m trying to gather as much info upfront as I can. I have two questions that, hopefully, you won’t mind addressing. One: What is your attitude about offering framed prints? I’d rather not have to deal with framing at the beginning (or at all, truth be told) but I wonder if sales would be a lot higher if a print were to be sold framed and ready to hang. It seems that framing adds more weight, thus higher shipping costs, and the possibility of breakage, thus returns. Sounds like a big drag to me. Two: I tend to work smallish… maybe around 8”x10”. I realize this doesn’t prevent me from scaling up somewhat, but I don’t really feel my work lends itself to being too large. I wonder if limiting the options to two sizes (maybe 8x10” and 9x12”… standard pre-made frame sizes) is self-defeating, or does offering too many sizes just make a lot of extra work for me, without much of a payoff. Thank you so much for looking at this. I appreciate it a lot! Neil

Oh I had no idea you actually opened your etsy in 2017! I love hearing stories like this, it's super motivating! I opened my etsy at the start of the month and I'm loving it. I totally get you when you talk about how much passion you have for it! I love how you were the first sale haha, I didn't even think of doing that. That's a really good tip for people who are just starting! I currently have 15 listings I think, but I'm doing an update soon so that number will be going up soon! Did the etsy search engine traffic grow overtime? Right now I'm getting very little traffic from etsy themselves. I've got maybe 3 visits in total through them. The majority of my traffic is from my own referrals so I'm curious if increasing my listings will generate more etsy traffic. Aaaand you just said how once you hit 50 sales increased soooo I guess that answered my question haha!

Hi Tink, it was nice hearing about your etsy journey. I had the same issue with feeding paper a week ago and spent two days trying to fix it, but in the end i just needed to clean the bit inside near the paper feeder! I still want a new printer though, so i am researching - thinking about the canon pixma pro 100 🤔 Which model did you get in the end? I love the tip about lots of listings! I'm at 28 now, but hoping to keep adding more :)
@TinkIllustration4 жыл бұрын
Thanks April 😊 I tried EVERYTHING with that printer, I cleaned it, got new cartridges, reset it, everything you can think of, but to no avail! I think it just wore out, unfortunately rather quickly. I have heard amazing things about the pro 100 and the pro 10, and I considered both, but I actually went for the ip8750 (link in desc). It supposedly doesn't print at the same level, but I have been seriously impressed with it. I cannot fault the print quality, and it easily matches my Epson (which printed Giclee!). I'm going to do another vlog soon testing out lots of different papers in it. Thanks so much for watching (again!) ❤️

Having 0 sales people should realize that they're new to etsy...Etsy need to fix that because it's not fair to new sellers and clearly new sellers will struggle
