It's all about marketing and networking! I've done both in the past, and everything you said is what I did, so I agree 💯

Thank you for this to both Ashley for sharing her experience. and MGL for posting this. I have a family member starting a tee shirt business and forwarded this to them.

Thanks Ashlee! Just now working on my listings for Etsy. My gut feeling was exactly as you advise. I will eventually want my own website but for now it’s going to be Etsy. I’ve spent last few months educating myself and I’m ready to launch. My struggle is I have too many ideas and become bogged down in creating and experimenting. But, I’m having fun!

Just do it! It does not have to be perfect, like any other business you learn as you go!!

I love selling on Etsy. Still working toward moving the sales needle, but through Inner Circle learning and following Etsy business podcasts, am getting better over time. ❤ Good to hear Ashley's story. 😊

Thank you! Love the comparison and suggestion to work your way into your own website! I’m hoping to launch my Etsy shop by the end of the month!

I have both an Etsy and a Shopify site. First, I was able to use one of Shopify’s templates for my store without any coding. Second, you make some great points about the number of shoppers on Etsy. I don't have a large following so Etsy potentially puts me in front of more customers.

Since this is all new to me, I’m sticking with Etsy. I’ve sold nothing on Etsy since starting in January, but have had several sales since I post on FB what I am selling in my Etsy shop…

I prefer Etsy over shopify for reasons you described. Sure it's easy to get going, but then you find out you have to set up every aspect of the store on Shopify. Then they want you to pay $200+ for a template to get your shop more Shopify worthy. Then I paid someone to help build my shop, and all he did was add listing, which is the easy part.
