I'm a white woman in my 70's, grew up in a typical all white farm town in Northern Michigan and Etta James, Roberta Flack, Ella Fitzgerald were a house hold name in the 50's and 60's.. I still have every black Soul singer, Pop singer, R&B singer, Male and Female that ever recorded an album, I just wish more young black folks knew more about these iconic performers that will never come again so they can keep their music alive for generations to come. Thank God for KZbin and reaction channels like yours King Kevo... keep it going young man. Great reaction.

Etta james is arguably the best female singer in the history of the world. More soul in her hairbrush than any pop star today, truth.

Many, many years ago, I worked extremely hard on At Last. I learned the foolishness of ever trying to do an Etta James song right then. No matter what I did, it came out sounding too prissy. I gave up and never made that mistake again. Only Etta James can sing Etta James. But thank heaven she did it.

I agree only Etta can sang it, I just wish she would’ve been able to sing it at Barack’s Inauguration instead of Beyoncé because she was still alive at that time. I still think that was Lousy and Low Down till this day🤦🏾♂️

Beyoncé didn’t even try to get in contact with Etta before that stupid movie Cadillac Records. And Etta wasn’t afraid to tell everydamnbody that. She was pissed. Etta had more talent in her pinky finger than Beyoncé could ever ever hope to have

They never gave that is James the credit that she was still she was the most powerful and most wonderful singer going do you do you only one that came close to any germs are in there of wonderful cover on her song she wrote this song by the way in case you didn’t know is watch Beth Hart and Joe Basil are in Amsterdam live doing I’d rather go Blind and that you belong to me Beth Heart and Joe Bosmas live in Amterdam I want to take Care Of You. And Am I The One Live. Etta is my girl I will never let anyone take her Place my love Liz The Queen
