For real. In the napotilan songs (same for Torna a surriento), you can almost image him smilling while he was singing. There's a subtle bit powerful sense of pride in his voice.

La verdad sea dicha,no conocía a Bastianinni y debo reconocer ,al ver algunas arias y escuchar algunas canzonettas que me ha sorprendido .Un barítono sorprendente. La forma en que ataca la nota es delicadisima y casi imperceptible el esfuerzo sin duda de los mejores barítonos que he escuchado....fantastico

LOL. As an (amateur) baritone, I am always gratified when a world class baritone proves that some song, canzone, lieder, aria, or whatever, will work just as well in a slightly lower key. Tenors get too much adulation. By nature, a good baritone can produce fuller, richer throat and chest tones than a good tenor. Many tenor arias would sound just as good in a slightly lower baritone range key. The biggest obstacle is often convention.

I agree. I used to sing tenor and then my voice literally dropped for some reason. Probably puberty but anyways I’m a dramatic baritone right now and I couldn’t agree more. The solos in my high school concert choir songs were in tenor. Baritone sounds just as good coming from someone who has sung both pitches. Practice is what makes it sound perfect though. For example, a tenor who hasn’t ever sung before is much worse than a baritone who has gotten years of vocal coaching, and practice. Anyway, best of luck to you in your singing man!

Tenors probably receive the adulation probably because they're more rare than baritones. Qualify a good one, and well, it's a wrap from that point forward.

It cames from his last tournée to Japan. The voice is not more the same (it's the last year he sung, and one and a half year before his death). This beautiful voice is however always stunning!
