Taiwan's Hai Kun (SS-711) SSK: Engine deployed on Taiwan home-made submarine - Low-end MTU Series 12V 4000 diesel engines were introduced to the market in year 1996 for commercial usage only. The Series 4000 engines are widely used in commercial marine applications, but never use in military submarines. To play it safe, keep away any so called Taiwan home made weapons and combat gears, all them are not reliable ones to cause major accidents only.
