2011-2012 Illinois Music Educators Association high school audition piece for district and state honor ensembles. Performed and discussed by Eric Mandat, Professor of Clarinet at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

Your tone and articulation is absolutely beautiful, however, I would love to hear some more dynamic contrast throughout the piece.

+Allie B Likely, it's the microphone that's not allowing the contrast that you want. Either way, you're talking to a highly respected clarinet pedagogue...

+Logan McAmis I recorded this; I assure you it's not "the microphone"! Yes, Eric most likely is playing this exactly as he wants. There are always musicians who feel something should be played differently. I suppose we can all strive to "do it better"; is there really perfection in any performance?

I didn't actually think the microphone sounded bad. I heard contrast!

I only have to play till 0:44 for my audition and for me it's hard... u play it so beautifully
