పట్టాలపై రైళ్లను పరుగులు పెట్టిస్తూ ప్రయాణికుల్ని సురక్షితంగా గమ్యస్థానాలకు చేర్చడంలో లోకోపైలట్లది కీలకపాత్ర. కంటిపై కునుకు లేకుండా నిరంతరం అప్రమత్తంగా ఉంటూ కత్తి మీద సాములా విధులు నిర్వహిస్తుంటారు. రేయింబవళ్లు విధులు, అదనపు పని గంటలు, సెలవులు లేకుండా విధులు చేయాల్సి వస్తోందని లోకోపైలట్లు వాపోతున్నారు. తమ కష్టాలు తీర్చాలంటూ రైల్వే ఉన్నతాధికారులకు మొరపెట్టుకుంటున్నారు.

బాబు నువ్వు చెప్పింది కరెక్టే కానీ రైల్వే అయినా ఆర్టీసీ అయినా లేకపోతే ఏదైనా ట్రాన్స్పోర్ట్ ఫీల్డ్ అయినా. డ్రైవర్లకు 8 గంటల పని విధానం ఉండదు. నెలకు సరాసరి 208 గంటలు గా లెక్క కడతారు. దానిని రోజుకు 8 కి తక్కువ గాని ఎక్కువ గాని ఉండవచ్చు. 208 గంటలకి ఎక్కువ ఉంటే దానిని ఓవర్ టైం గా పరిగణిస్తారు.. ఈ ఓవర్ టైం కోసమే చాలామంది డ్రైవర్లు అధికారులకు డ్యూటీ వేసే క్లర్కులకు లంచాలు కూడా ఇస్తారు...
