The US should get out of NATO for the EU to take care of its own security. There will never be a credible European army with the US still in NATO.

Well, I have to disagree. Yes, we've spent more than our share in NATO, and the other members of the alliance must step up and do their fair share. However, with the different conflicts brewing around the world, most importantly the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, rather than leaving NATO, we should be more actively involved. The security of the US and Europe depends on it. Consider the trillions of dollars the collective "west" has spent over the last 70+ years, just to be prepared for Soviet/Russian aggression. Now that Russia is actively waging an imperialistic war in eastern Europe, we must be involved in defending not only territory and lives, but the democratic principles that we espouse. It would be foolish for the US to think this conflict does not affect us. The cost now, in lives and treasure, will be drastically less, than the expense of a much larger war in the future. We do not live in a vacuum.

@jefferyshute6641 I disagree with you also. The Europeans do not seem to care about their own security. They care more about making business deals. Xi was given a red carpet treatment in Europe last week. This week, he's hosting Putin, the man waging a war in Europe on Europe's doorstep. The United States has shared intelligence with Europe that China is supporting Russia's war against Ukraine. How tone deaf are the Europeans? We saw this same behavior with cheap Russian oil and gas. The EU is a rich union. They should be able to provide security for themselves without the United States. French president, Macron, went on a state visit in China last year and openly criticized the US. He said that the EU should stay out of a war between China and Taiwan. Why should the United States support Ukraine against Russia if the EU is not going to support the US against a possible war with China to protect Taiwan? Is Taiwan democracy not important? NATO is a big scam against the American taxpayers.
