The only dumb restriction they imposed that no belt fed full autos are allowed. So you can legally own, let's say an M249, but you're only allowed to feed it magazines, not belts. However, this might also change this spring. Suppressors have been legal for a few years now. Got myself a B&T Rotex V (5.56) and a B&T Impuls IIA (9mm Luger). Hope our government will lift the ban on .50 BMG as well. Downside: a special additional requirement for owning full auto in Lithuania is that you must have an installed alarm in the room where the full auto firearms are kept and, in case of a break-in, the alarm must directly notify an armed security response unit. You can still own semi-autos without an alarm though.

While you Slavic guys, Kalashnikov shirt, beer (Czech), look like Europeans and guys from us. I guess I'm weird, but I didn't like the guests. While all the instructors and sport shooters try to look like Instructor Zero or Chris Costa. Beards, tattoos and the look of a Viking cowboy. Ziga and his team have their own style. To me, you just seem like normal people who aren't playing around. You're full of humor and you can make fun of yourselves. I fucking love you guys! We have a lot of phrases like that in American English, for as long as I can remember the meaning of "knockdown power" and "stopping power" were always referring to the time/shots needed for incapacitation. So it always varies by target and assumes proper shot placement. For example not all 5.56 will have enough "knockdown power" for a deer but most .308 will do fine. Even if both shots are lethal, the deer is far less likely to run a marathon after taking .308 to the heart. Same logics apply to bipedal animals too. And try not to judge american beer by the hyper commercialized swill that dominates the market, we do have some folks making the good stuff!

Firearms Laws in Ireland very strict and broad whilst also being vague, To give an example airsoft guns can't fire a bb with kinetic energy of more than 1 Joule. Nerf Guns are legally speaking considered actual firearms in Irish law(it's not applied but it fits the the law). You have to get approved for each firearm by your local Firearms officer. Have a reason to own a firearm, shooting drills or tactical type shooting is illegal. You have to pay for the gun and get a serial number to put into your application for that firearm - if you don't get approved you lose your money.

Not to mention that owning anything like an AR-15 might as well be illegal, that almost all sport shooting disciplines are stationary, centerfire pistols are unlicenseable, probably the worst capacity/magazine restrictions in Europe, that you have to renew your license every 3 years and that the sport shooting scene is 99% fudds who think the state of firearm ownership is just great. The boomer firearm owners killed sport shooting in Ireland more than the government did, and they somehow can't understand why very few young people are bothered getting involved. in my experience half of shooters are 40+ if not more. But yeah the laws themselves are bizarre. Paintball guns are technically firearms so you have kids shooting each other with firearms every weekend.

How did Slovenia deal with the EU Standard Capacity Ban?
@PolenarTactical Жыл бұрын
Not the best. If you want to have standard capacity magazines for your gun, it has to be registered as A category. Good thing is that all the guns that you already own can be grandfathered in, the issue is only if you want to buy new guns in A category - you need a written confirmation from one of the major sport shooting organisation that you actively compete. But on the other hand we are lucky that magazines are still legal and completely unregulated. It could be a no-no if you have a semi auto rifle in B category together with the magazine for more than 10 rounds but honestly, 99,9% of police has no idea about these new laws so for many people it didn't change much. Definitely could be done better but not bad at all
@DUKEisALIVE Жыл бұрын

Google is also developing AI for the military, for example AI for object recognition from satellite images. There have been several scandals surrounding this where the developers didn't even know that their algorithms were being used to find Reaper drone targets. Some distanced themselves and left Google instead. 1:24:27 Have you ever tried to shoot down a drone with an AK? No collimator, no optics? You shoot a lot of ammo and you have to count that it will hit somewhere, you shoot very high. 1:27:27 Miniaturization and developments in mobile are changing the world more than people realize. The US is developing optics and collimators that can focus on moving targets, calculate speed and distance and thus show where you are and when to shoot so that the target is hit. They are very expensive, more expensive than the guns themselves, but these toys can turn a monkey into a sniper.

You need a License to own a firearm, Firearms registration, and a permit to carry firearm outiside of residence which only applies to a single firearm you own. So considering you have multiple handguns you want to conceal carry you have to literally get a PTCFOR license for them each.

Knock down=terminal velocit. #energy.
@PolenarTactical Жыл бұрын
That's the problem, it doesn't directly corelate because knock down power is a made up term of subjective observation. People hunting will see powerful rounds not doing much and on the other hand some weaker rounds killing the animal instantly. So someone sees a .308 taking out a deer instantly and they says to himself - this round has a lot of knock down power. But in reality it is very dependant on the velocity, the ammount of energy the round has, distance to target, shot placement and especially transfer of energy to target (terminal ballistics) It's like saying that a car has a lot of "racing power" instead of defining weight, torque, handling and so on...

Hopefully Sweden can adopt some more reasonable gun laws like some of you guys within EU clearly have. Over here you can only own guns for hunting or competition shooting basically, it's very strict to a silly degree. Self defense or carrying in public is a big no no here and in general people are like "why would we want guns, look at the US, it will become the same here"... Even though lots of countries allow similar gunlaws without the issues. Also, most of the shootings in the US is gun related, just like over here in Sweden. And we basically have the most issues with that in the entire EU. So clearly strict gun laws or more free laws has nothing to do with it. People are just narrow minded and brainwashed by the left in the US. Myself I'm not a fan of only having the criminals being able to arm themselves while the rest of us must rely on the police that can only be reactive to threats...i.e it's too late when they arrive if something should happen. It's a stupid system. However if laws should ever change I'm all for serious educations before you can own any firearm. I mean, we have to get a drivers license to drive cars, only makes sense that guns require similar treatment so whomever owns a gun can truly handle them properly and treat them with respect. So if people show up for the courses and see not taking it seriously or don't pay attention they will fail the courses and cannot get a firearm license.

I love you guys, you are doing an excellent job at Polenar. But using “gay” in a derogatory way (even jokingly) doesn’t sit well with me. Queers are shooters too. Self defense is a human right.

I'm aware of it and i agree it's not the most mature thing to use the word in such a way despite not trying to insult anyone. Also it's not our intention to exclude anyone from the community or have prejudice against them just because of their sexual orientation. I have a very libertarian view on things and honestly i don't really care about what people do, as long as they aren't idiots, infringe on other peoples rights or hurt others. We are from a slavic country and queers were (and still are) something that a lot of people despise. Like it or not this had a strong influence on all of us growing up. At least for myself i can say that i shape my own opinions and thoughts about stuff. And a lot of us did, even early on when we were still young, but like it or not, the word "gay" still stick with us until today. Not sure how it's perceived in English but in Slovenian language it's not a derogatory term, we have a couple of those that people would use to try to insult an actual queer. "Gay" just stick with us as a word describing something as "weak" or "lame". And yes, i understand how and why this might be insulting to some people so i try to not use it in our videos... but when we're drunk and talking for 2 hours, it comes out. It's just something that is so commonly used in our personal conversation that it has become natural. But here is the tricky part, in the real world people will say and do things that you don't like or agree with, and that is fine. It happens. It's life.

@@PolenarTactical Thank you for a thoughtful reply, I appreciate it! In American English (the only one I can claim any knowledge of) “gay” is definitely not a derogatory term, but it is commonly used in derogatory manner. You wouldn’t call something that you find lame and weak “this is so masculine” or “this is so hetero”, right? I’m originally from a slavic country as well, and everyday low-key bigotry is one of the reasons my wife and I emigrated. I think you holding attention of millions of viewers is a real power, and you could make a meaningful difference. Hatred for queers is already inflamed enough. And - using your own words - in the real world people might opt to watch a different channel or buy goods and apparel in another online store. It happens, it’s life. In my opinion, in the long term, bigoted ideas don’t sell. This recent video on that topic resonated with me: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4mXgqyYZ85lp5o
