I love having the Euro but I wish the EU had stayed just a trading group. And this is why, their politics have to satisfy ALL the countries meaning that while you have ones like Hungary and Slovakia you will never get anything done. I can understand why the UK left the EU and in some ways I wish we could/would as well. Trying to tie 27 [or whatever the number is currently] countries into one political unit is NEVER going to work successfully and the compromise results work fully for nobody.

Going back to the treaty of Rome in 1957 the embryo of what was to become EU was already included in that treaty including all EU core institutions. UK left because it wanted to opt out of one of the fgundamental freedoms, the one of freedom of movement, but was told that is impossible. So Cameron´s gamble for internal UK policy fell apart and he had to call the referendum he had promised. UK left EU and now tries frantically to get closer ties because their economy is falling apart again. That is also why the applied for membership three times before being accepted in 1973. They understood that the countries in EEC were doing better in their union.

He wants it repeated. In 1956 russian tanks rolled in to protect the government from people. Lukashenko was protected the same way recently. Orban wants the same protection, but Ukraine is in the way of help from russian tanks in case of an uprising. So he needs Ukraine gone.
