It’s not hard to remove that bad noble privilege near the beginning of the game, if you don’t give them any more privileges yet, you can summon the diet and if you get a super easy mission for nobles and complete it you can immediately remove the privilege with higher loyalty then influence. Course this all depends on rng with what mission you get, and if don’t complete it fast enough you might not be able to seize crownlands at the very start (since it decreases loyalty) before starting your day one wars. Another alternative and more consistent way to remove it early is to just sell titles at the start and you automatically get that loyalty to immediately remove the privilege, course the downside to that would be not being able to add in one of the mana privileges so you have to sacrifice one at the start, though as Muscovy if you don’t provide to many privileges at the start you can rapidly get that crown land back from just taking provinces with the estates influences are low.

There are SO MANY subjects you can play w/ as Muscovy/Russia: -In the east, there's also Sibir and Kazakh, which you can release from Uzbek -One or two of the western hordes (crimea, Nogai, Great horde, Nogai) will get cannibalized by the others, so you could vassalize and reconquer for them -Those 4 lithuanian vassals -Finland -Vassals in the Balkans that were conquered by the Ottomans -The guys you start with of course -Riga is always a good vassal -Teutons often get conquered, that's another good vassal So honestly, opening up w/ influence ideas wouldn't be bad. You'll probably also want admin somewhere along the way, so that meshes really well w/ influence (they have a -15% diplo annex cost policy together)

I wouldn't agree that you don't need allies as Muscovy. If Poland-Lithuania and Austria-Hungary become allies (which is not a far-fetched scenario at all) then you're in for a lot of trouble expanding into Eastern Europe without allies. Normally I try to ally Austria and use them against both the PLC and Ottos. Either are feasible to be defeated alone, but why bother when you can use allied cannon fodder? And later, when you need to fight Austria itself, you drop it for France and (if available) Spain, GB, someone strong from Italy.

25:18 As a heads up, you MAY NOT want to take religious ideas as Muscovy despite its synergy with Orthodox nations. As Russia, you have a mission that requires the Patriarchs to have +70 Loyalty, a bunch of influence, have high religious unity, AND you needed to have done at least 4 estate agendas for them. Its a surprisingly difficult mission to take, doesn't give you a ton of rewards, and you HAVE to complete it in order to get to some of your really awesome missions OR you can take "Separate Church and State" to lose the Patriarch estate and take it for free with some admin tech discount. To take that Gov reform, you need to have taken either Innovative or Humanist Ideas. Humanist is a surprisingly good alternative to Religious, even if it isn't as powerful as it used to be, and it will help alot with rebels and all too. You can always switch out of it later if you play long enough to get the reform that removes all penalties for Heretics and Heathens. Another slightly unorthodox idea group you may want to try out is Espionage as well. You don't need the Claim States since you already get that but the AE reduction, Siege ability, and extra diplomats can really help you expand very quickly especially once you get into Europe proper. Additional tips 1: I'm so glad Hawk took Trade ideas as his recommended first idea group at tech 5. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TAKE A MIL IDEA AT TECH 5. You will fall behind in mil tech and die probably by Poland. 2: You have a mission as Russia that requires you to have 7 Loyal Vassals with less than 20% disloyalty in order to progress your mission tree. Keep that in mind when you are conquering. Historically, Muscovy did this to help conquer the Steppes and parts of Siberia. 3: You need to be really careful when you decide to attack Poland Lithuania. Obviously, its bad to wait too long to fight them, since Poland especially gets some nasty mil ideas later in its national ideas as well as some big eco ideas so it can field massive cavalry armies, and the game can't really emulate the stranglehold the Sejm had on Poland historically so they just turn into this OP deathball that can't be stopped except by a more powerful deathball. But you also don't want to fight them too early, because the Ottomans get Invasion CBs onto Moldavia and claims on the Black Sea provinces they control and boy if you thought Poland was hard to deal with, the Ottomans pre-1650 is even worse. 4: Keep the year 1650 in mind whenever you play a nation that wants to attack the Ottomans but can't/doesn't fight them early game. That's around the year that the Decadence disaster will almost always fire for them, which will send them into a massive death spiral of disasters, some of which have absolutely ludicrous requirements to get out of. They will basically turn into pushovers after being in those disasters for about 10 years. 5: You don't necessarily have to go after Novgorod first, though it is always a good idea to do so. Because you start off focusing Admin, you can hire an adviser and take the mission as soon as you build to 80% force limit, allowing you to go after other countries within the Russia region as well. 6: Don't support Sweden's independence if they ask you. Them breaking free on their own but getting locked in a cycle of reconquest and independence wars with Denmark is probably the best thing that can happen.

With mission rewards and PA in the age of Reformation related decisions it's possible to convert Muslim even without religious (accept culture of course) so religious isn't a priority anymore. But if you take choose turn permanent claims for buffs in the first mission. You will run into problems of claims expiring. So im that case it's good to take religious for cb. Honestly the whole point of the first mission is probably the diplomat. The actual admin save is too late game to matter.

That reminds me. Germans in the Romanov family. Good old Romanov family (or Rottenberg at this point, lol). Who would have forgotten the fact that Nikolai II's waifu was German?

Ayo, this is EU4. Why do you want to be objectively sensitive over a modern day trend that has nothing to do with a game set in the late middle ages?

@@silence5014 That is the reason i commented. I just got 1.35 like 2 weeks ago and been trying out some nations. Havent played in a few years so whats better than come to this channel and get that memory kickin. But there has been several guides that i cant follow at all.
