If you want to try a campaign without just conquering, try doing what someone suggest beforehand and play as the emperor but try and be an actually good emperor - stop foreign powers from expanding into the HRE, restore legitimate claims and help expand the empire's borders. It would also be more interesting if it wasn't Austria you did it as.

Jeroen Expansion is ok if it's necessary to keep the empire stable/safe, but it'll just be boring if he eats everyone and gets too powerful.

How did Great Britain hired the Hessian Condottiere, if Hessen is usually landlocked? But then again how does the same General fight a battle in India and the very next day rebels in Iberia? And don't get me started on the fortresses... I love this game! It's come a long way.

Not sure how long it's been since you've done an HRE campaign, but a simple way to increase authority, particularly if you're going to take the last 2 decisions, is to take land, core it, add it to HRE, then release it as a new nation.

A good condottiere run would be as the Swiss, as they started as a nation of mercenaries. Build tall, rent troops, and Swiss out.

Also if Pomerania takes those provinces, they won't actually add the provinces to the empire. Only emperors seem to do that

I don't know how readily Arumba reads comments. However, for the purposes of hiring out Condotierri, troops in a boat off the coast of a country count as having land access to that country's capital. So you can rent out troops that are loaded onto a fleet.

Hey Arumba because you are Arumba I am pretty sure you already know but developing Berlin also appears to add a certain percentage to Rennisence spread each time you develop that province

What he really should do is develop all those 9 dev province to 10 dev, to get the spread.

Besides the increase in passive spread by reaching 20 it also appears that it gives a certain increase in percentage for just for developing a province once

Be interesting to see you do a benevolent emperor play instead of blobbing yourself. Go for max princes, 100+ HRE princes is (relatively easily) doable, IIRC I've seen 200 on reddit somewhere....though that did require blobbing across the whole of europe. Maybe late for this playthrough, dunno how far 'ahead' you are.
