You used to be able to do it 30 years into the game, now it takes 140 years and if you get devestation in 10+ provinces your military and economy will go from good to worthless. Also rebels will spawn everywhere and you can only hold on to the chinese region as your troops are garbage.

It's a shame you glanced over how DDRJake's version of the Minghals was even more broken than the current incarnation. Namely because Ming's factions used to give far bigger bonuses which were offset by the crippling 'Inward Perfection' modifier. His trick got rid of Inward Perfection while keeping Ming's factions so that he could do ridiculous things like instantly core provinces for free. (Some of the faction bonuses at the time were: -75% tech cost, -100% advisor cost, -100% core creation cost, +25% discipline, -100% build cost, etc.)

Hello, I just did it in 1484 (without MoH), and if there's one point that should really be pointed out is: DO NOT TAKE A SINGLE UNNECESSARY PROVINCE. Seriously, the wars were extremely easy since you can just threaten the Kham, and U-tsang have trouble getting alliance so you can go against Nepal with almost 100% manpower and by the time you've finished, isolating Jawnpur diplomatically should be done. No, the major downside here, is agressive expansion. If you take nepal and two provinces of Jawnpur in close time, you will get a coalition on your face, and since Delhi has very nice provinces that you have to take just to make way towards the one you want, you'll get a shit ton of AE. So really, if you want to try this at home, it's not hard, but you have to be very, VERY cautious about a coalition forming, since getting hit by a 5-6 country coalition led by Delhi just after you've taken Jawnpur provinces is gonna set you waaaayyyy back. Great video nonetheless ^^

You can also do the same thing with Tibet, you just quickly take it over and use the state trick to switch to Tibetan culture. There's an event if you have a shitty ruler, which Ming starts with, where you change your government to a Theocracy.

A couple of things to add after doing my own Minghals run: Take the same dev of Afghan provinces as you have dev in your capital. That way, you won't need to move your capital and you can save a lot (not sure how many) of admin points. Also, after moving your capital to Delhi, you can then make your culture back into the Chinese group, to get more culture bonuses After this, move your capital not back to Beijing, but to Chengdu. I like this strategy a lot, for 3 reasons. 1, Chengdu has farmlands, around 24 dev, and a valuable trade good, meaning it's perfect for developing an institution, which you most likely want to do. 2, Chengdu is closer to India, so your states there won't have as much maintenance as they otherwise would have had. And 3, it sets all of India to unknown attitude towards you until you DoW them. It changes because they can no longer see your capital, but I'm not sure exactly how it works. They seem to get aggressive expansion, but not be able to join coalitions, as close as I can tell. Also, you get the choice of three religions to pick. You can remain Confucian, become Hindu through rebels, which is pretty easy since once you own all of India, more than half of your dev will likely be Hindu, or you can go Sunni via a decision that fires once your first Hindu monarch dies. After playing to around 1650 as Sunni, I think Hindu would be the strongest. I chose religious in my game, and there are very few countries in the world that are Hindu and aren't in India. The argument for Sunni hinges on the fact that you can get religious ideas and still have +3 tolerance of heathens if you use the Dhimmi estate properly, but you need to either spend a lot of diplo points on conquest, or go really slowly and only take claimed provinces, or wait until imperialism to attack Sunnis. I am going for a world conquest btw. If you aren't, that might completely change your strategy.

I have a slight off-topic question: I'm trying to get East Indian Trade Route modifier triggered, I discovered Cape of Good Hope, have way over 4 ports, I have QFNW idea unlocked and a merchant in Malacca, yet still game says I need to have trade power in "Straits of Johor" (i.e. Malacca). The year is about 1490s. Why it won't trigger? I've set merchant there to Transfer trade Power, maybe he needs to colect? Anyone has any idea why it won't get active?

I tried it. and it does not work. 1. I did not loose my governement when I became the mughals. 2. I ended um a lot weaker since I started with all my land fully cored, but I could not recore all of it. 3. I started with 0% Autonomy in my country. So, there seams to have been a change.

You can always go on a version branch to play anything that's been patched out. As for the mandate of heaven system coming up, I'm worried about it. Since it seems to make you want to claim the throne for yourself as an asian country, but I don't see a reason for doing so since having the throne is actually a nerf/penalty.

I am from the future after the mandate of heaven expansion: this strategy still works, but due to the need for tributaries and the amount of countries in india, the mandate drops quite a bit. Only way to defeat this is to destroy the indians quick or stay at +3 stability after switching to afghan culture and forming the mughals, make sure to statify one of the chinese cultures one at a time so you dont get the emperor of China in name only modifier I usually statify the south and culture switch to cantonese, though this requires you to make more of the provinces cantonese before you do this however if you culture switch to something like jianhui, it might be easier. only threat to your power is the ottomans, which in my game went into persia.
