…I think you released that one at a later stage ages ago for some shenanigans at the Horn of Africa in order to then get their cores on the cheap… in general, you should by now be quite familiar with that region… you should be able to get to the Ethiopian gold mines and maybe even the Zimbabwean ones for shmoney… just don’t stir the Mamlucks and Kilwa too early and you ought to be really comfortable.

I think your biggest conundrum is going to be whether to gun for the gold mines in Etheopia or Kilwa first. Marehan won't be hard to conquer, and Adal should be willing to support you.

Liang is rebellious warlord most known In Romance of the three kingdoms era because of Dong Zhuo. He get both child-heirs of Imperator and oof elder and proclaim younger one new emperor but, of course, rule himself as regent. Luoyang was capital of All Han state but he burned it and fleeing west to older capital at Xi An. And they provinces here would be Xi An, Yan An, Fenxiang and Pingliang

Luang was notable since it was a frontier province and the population were good soldiers. After Dongs fall the Han court said something about punishing some people who sided with Dong. Leading to the Liang organizing themselves and burning down the capital.

The country got a ton of vassals. And unlike Ming they have no mechanic to halve the damage from their units done. Ming is always mandate driven. You want to attack Ming when they got low mandate, wich they always do after passing a reform. Just take a look at their negative modifiers. A good reason Red Hawk do not even touch this mechanic ^^ There is also one of the reforms later causing the crisis of Ming. Lower mandate and take away stab and cut income while adding 10% unrest to all provinces. Its like a firework and unprepared your toast. In the first round roughly 100k rebels spawn.

The Ming disaster really isn’t that hard, people posting ‘strategies’ on it make it seem so much harder than it actually is. It’s just another case of dealing with rebellions, War of the Roses style. In my first ever Ming campaign, I was really anticipating it and doing everything to be prepared for it, but was taken aback by how easy it actually was. All the reforming too, if you simply ignore your estates' loyalty and follow the missions it’s all pretty straightforward.

honestly the biggest thing for Ming is the starting autonomy caused by your starting estate privileges iirc as well as doing the missions to prevent/mitigate your bad Chinese events like the floods. When I did the copium wars achievement I spent basically the first 100 years just devving, teching, and scaling before looking outwards, obviously there were a few wars versus the Oirat and other hordes but it was mostly peaceful

Chinese Warlords are definitely fun in EU4. Everything gets conquered so easily, everything is a core so you get very little aggressive expansion or admin costs. It just satisfies the urge to conquer so much.

If you like playing china that much because of constantly warfare I woul suggest playing MEIOU&Taxes 2.6 because it starts in 1356 in the middle of red turban rebellion where every warlord can become the next emperor of china

hate playing in Europe cos of all the AE, and I get to see Spain and Portugal own most of the New World all the damn time so early. Better for me to play in Asia, away from all that noise. More warfare and just more flavour outside Europe now. We've moved on from Europe being the focus of Europa Universalis, thank goodness.
