Changes in price over time period are probably about price revolutions. Like in about 30-40 years from start date, after discovery of silver in saxony/bohemia region and tirol region, when over one lifetime prices jumped x3-4 times, comlete shock to people, guilds and economical stability. And another one, after new world gold flooded Europe, increasing prices again for x5-7 times. In less then a hundred years feudal economy was broken to the point beyond managing or fixing.

I was excited to learn about this Tinto Talks, and having been recommended another KZbinr's video on it, I kept refreshing Zlewikk's page for this video throughout that day. I wanted to Zlewikk's video on it both because I see him as the biggest Authority on EU4 trade among the KZbinrs I watch and because I like the level of review and analysis he shows in these videos. So while I was tempted to look at another video on this, I'm happy with having waited for this one.

The "Eastern" in the medieval Roman Empire name is a modern construct. At the time they called it just Roman Empire.
@ZlewikkTV6 ай бұрын
I refuse to call them that! :v
@Alex_Fahey6 ай бұрын
If the 'they' you meant is Byzantine subjects, then they would call themselves Roman and say they lived in the Roman Empire. Many other peoples wouldn't call them Roman at all preferring to terms like Hellenes/Greeks/etc. and saying they lived in the Empire/Kingdom of the Greeks.
@ShiningLight6 ай бұрын
@@Alex_Fahey no, just the Catholics and Protestant did, and they did so for religious reasons (because the Pope refused subordination of his church to the Emperor) and they made a "new", "western", "(holy)", """roman""", "empire" so they could remain independent from the actual Romans living in the east. Everyone else around them excluding them and the Roman themselves (so Persian, Africans, Arabians) referred to them as Romans. The language of the Romans in the East has always been Greek for commerce and diplomacy, to them and anyone else besides the western separatists, nothing changed.
@Alex_Fahey6 ай бұрын
@@ShiningLight You start your response by ceding the point and saying that all the Catholic world would not call them Roman. Do you not see that this contradicts your original comment? You have just argued that Catholics - which covered much of Europe before, during, and after the mediaeval ages - did not call them Roman (which is frankly far, far more extreme than my own opinion). You argue this yet maintain the idea that calling the ERE something other than simply Roman is a modern invention. Unless you think """modern""" begins somewhere around 800 AD, then I don't understand how you can think your initial statement is true.
@ShiningLight6 ай бұрын
@@Alex_Fahey that's not what I said in the original post. I said that calling it "Eastern" Roman Empire is a modern invention. At the time, the Catholic called it Empire of the Greeks/Byzantine sure, everyone else they were just Romans, but I meant that the word "Eastern" was never an official title of the state.

There has to be, otherwise once you and the AI start creating bigger markets you'd have a single city in the middle of your market that is entirely in their own market.

I wasn't that excited because of new game for years. And i found map of 1337 much more interesting. Ireland, British Isles, Poland and southern Rus, northern Rus, Anatolia, Balkans. All those regions looks suitable for quite fast uniting them with more than just one tag what gives great ability to play same region but different tag. Also on Rus , Baltics and in Anatolia play styles can be very different if we would try to conquer region by this or that religion nation.

About performance: Most of their games have degrees of poor performance .... from OK to jep, that's that for this playthrough... Paradox has had a poor record when it comes to "transparency" in regards to their games and than under delivering on promises and whisfull thinking ... and the last thing we need is unnecessary hype a baseless optimism PS: 19:23 dude is a dev of course he's not gonna say that the performance at the moment mostly resembles a slide show, unless he wants to get booted out of the company So I let's stay calm and see what day one will bring

i just hope there is some sort of automation in all of this trading and building system. it all seems to in depth and becoming tedious to manage if you are doing world conquest runs and own half of the planet.
@ZlewikkTV6 ай бұрын
It's in both last 2 videos. Johan said you can eithe fully sutomate it or exclude specific merchants from automation or do it fully manually

@BobbiusRossius i wouldnt say shit, if they are just 'okay' it will be perfect. 1. It's more than needed for a newbie 2. Experienced players can set up a few strategies resources themselves and let ai automate the rest and 3. Dudes that like roleplaying and micromanaging will be able to do so, great for a tall, trade focused games
@spatrk66346 ай бұрын
@BobbiusRossius yea but if you have 150 types of buildings and resources to manage, then as i said, it will be tedious to manage everywhere if you own half of the world. if you give same automation to player as AI uses to build up, then even if its shit it will still be fine because both of you are doing it bad. but as zlewikk said, if you want to micromanage you can still do that. i imagine most people will turn on automation in lots of provinces, but micromanage few mots important ones. otherwise you will spend an hour paused while micromanaging every province every ingame year or whatever

Hmm, at least one thing is wrong about that coloured in map. Denmark in 1337 is a de jure only kingdom that controls pretty much no territory. So Scania is all wrong it should have a border in it between Scania and Blekinge belonging to Sweden and Halland to Mecklenburg.
